My husband and I both bought new laptops, one in the US and the other in Canada. We bought the extended warranty for them and were each told these would be honoured in the US and Canada no matter which country we purchased them in. Ha! that is until something happens. We have both had problems with our computers and guess what, the plans weren't honored and though we both had different problems it seems we didn't read the 'really really fine print' as both our problems were not covered. Once again Best Buy pulled an enormous scam.
Good bye Not So Best Buy, you are history to us and we will make a concerted effort to stop our family and friends from supporting your criminal practices.

Its not criminal practice if they had the print in it.

The Community Connectors on this site (BB employees actually employed at BB Corporate in MN) are very helpful in working towards resolutions. If you'd provide more details on your purchase and the issues you and your husband's PCs were experiencing, the CCs may be able to help you out. I know there's not much that can be done about the mis-info on both warranties being able to be used in the US or Canada, but there still may be something they could do. ABomb was also correct of course, nothing criminal has happened here since the warranties are clearly outlined on GS.com and in the warranty pamphlet. Clients are usually required to sign something during the initial purchase too, acknowledging they were given the warranty pamphlet when they purchased the warranty. I know a lot of us don't read into much of what we're buying, especially when it comes to small print ... Unfortunately as we all know, the small print is where all the important stuff is!

I was being sarcastic about the 'really really fine print'

Which country are you currently in?

Greetings,
I’m not quite sure why you (and your husband) would have been informed that service plans purchased at U.S. Best Buy stores could be honored at Best Buy Canada stores – or vice versa – but I can certainly imagine how disappointed you must have felt to discover that this is not the case. Remember that you still can, however, obtain international coverage for the laptop you purchased in the United States by calling our toll-free international service hotline at 1-888-539-6883.
If the laptop you purchased in Canada is currently in need of repairs, then I would strongly encourage you to contact Best Buy Canada at 1-866-BEST-BUY (1-866-237-8289) for information regarding your service options. This forum is primarily intended for U.S.-based customers, and I regret to inform you we are unable to provide specific details regarding Best Buy Canada’s service plan policies.
If you have any additional questions regarding the service plan you purchased within the United States, please feel free to let me know. You can send me a private message by signing into the forums and then clicking on either my signature below or the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
