Re: BUYER BEWARE. Being Fooled out of my $300 ADH coverage, and my $850 laptop.

The laptop itself WAS the falling object. Whether it was strapped to my back or not isn't important. It was entirely accidental, and  should be covered by your "accidental damage from handling" plan. It broke when it slammed into the concrete, not when my back landed on it. I can imagine I only put about 20 pounds of pressure on the laptop at any one time during my fall, considering the area of the top side of the laptop, and the fact that I am six feet tall, and that my back wasn't the only part of me that landed on the ground. Whats harder? A person's back? Or concrete? You decide. And if you cant, a simple density/hardness test could easily be arranged.

Oh and please don't even think about labeling this as a solved thread, because it certainly isn't, and quite honestly I'm tired of everyone affiliated with best buy treating me like a nobody. In the past week alone, I've spent more than four hours on the phone with Geek Squad, which eventually led me to you, Aaron. Come to find out, all you want to do is make sure I don't get what I am owed. It's just disgusting. I purchased the coverage to be safe from this kind of issue in the first place, and I'm getting tired of you guys trying to screw me.

Still awaiting a REAL solution

Re: BUYER BEWARE. Being Fooled out of my $300 ADH coverage, and my $850 laptop.

Now that I've had some time to cool off, I completely understand where you were coming from when you said that my laptop wasn't covered, but I'm just not sure that you understood the circumstances as well as I had hoped, partially due to me providing a description of the incident with enough detail to do so.
So please consider the fact that my laptop broke as soon as it struck the pavement, not when my back put hardly any pressure on it. If you pull physics into it, considering my height, weight, and the fact that my back wasn't entirely on the laptop when I fell, nor was it the only part of me that made contact with the ground, I could not possibly have damaged my laptop with my body at all. It should be honored by the ADH plan in full, as I was told that the plan covers drops that happen during daily use, and taking my laptop to and from school to write english reports and take notes are not uncommon. For the last 3 years, in fact, I have taken my laptop to school without any incident, so there is no reason that this could be considered customer abuse.
So please Aaron, if you will, help me get the people at Best Buy and Geek Squad to realize that this is an entirely honest customer issue, and needs to be covered. And if you would like more detail on the exact incident itself, I would be happy to fill in any gaps or misunderstandings. :]
Thank you,
-Ryan
