For the last 8 months I have been try to get Best Buy to do the right thing, but iI dont think it is going to happen. It started 8 months ago when I had my TV calibrated by a Best Buy Technician, well he accidently calibrated the wrong setting on my 58 inch plasma, I had him come out and try to reset it to the factory settings and he was unable to. I have called the geek squad many times and had them come out and they cant do anything, even had a technician come out on Oct 23 and he even messed a setting up on the tv, Well after many calls to Best Buy they are saying that I have to deal with the General Manager at the store where i bought the calibration and tv(i have 3400 dollars invested so far counting extended warranty and calibration and tv)Have been trying for 2 weeks to get in touch with GM at Best Buy with no luck.Who do i need to talk to next. This TV is still not what right!

Hi jrdrennan,
After reading your post I have to say this sounds like a very upsetting situation, and after looking into your history of dealing with this issue I can completely understand your frustration.
If the technician that initially calibrated your TV didn’t perform the calibration properly they should have re-calibrated the TV properly. I did see that you just want this TV reset to the factory settings, and you have been told that this is not possible.
I fully admit that I am not an authorized service technician, and I would be unable to speak to what is possible or not, but I would like to look into your issue to get you the resolution to this that you deserve. I am sending you a private message to start that conversation. To check your private messages you should log into the forum, and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Thanks for posting,

If you love your tv do not get a Best Buy calibration, I had mine calibrated and the technician calibrated the wrong settings and forgot to write down the factory settings and cannot return it to what the facory had it set at.Then another technician came out and change other settings and he didnt realize what he was doing. So be very careful of the people coming out and messing with settings in your sevice menu. You might t lose 3400 dollars(TV,Extended warranty and Calibration) like i did! The Public Needs to be Warned!

There should be an option in the menu to reset to factory default settings...

All you need to do is buy a 58 inch panasonic plasma and have a best buy technician come a calibrate it to the wrong settings and wala!,they just truned your tv into a 3400 dollar boat anchor. It make your tv worthless, the extended warrenty is worthless and the calibration ruined your tv. Sorry cant help it. If you get your tv calibrated and they mess it up they will not stand behind the mistakes.

I have tried everything from bb.It does not matter that they are responsible for ruining my tv. The gm said that the tv could not be returned to facory settings and that is to bad. Oh well I learned a good 3400 dollar lesson
