Re: $59.99 versus: $79.99 Geek Squad Protection

Hey - Thanks for the info!

I received the ToCs in the mail today and now I have your input.  Now down to 'brass tacks' as they used to say.

Aaron-

The comparison chart (which was never provided at the store) says it all.  As an example, though told the price of coverage depends on the price I pay for the set.  Looking at the chart anything 32" and above gets the Premium Protection.

BTW: Looking at the BBY website on this model LCD what is offered is the Standard at $59.99 however.

Premium plans are only avaliable in store. Also, you do not automatically get the Premium plan based on the size of the TV. It does cost extra.

As an FYI i'm almost positive you dont have the premium plan, the store manager was probably right that the difference is a 2yr vs a 4yr, the only other thing I could think is I know with the addition of the 2yr plans into Best Buy some of the standard plan prices dropped. The difference between the standard and the premium plan is 100 dollars not 20, check every single TV and it will be the same, so you probably paid the 20 difference for having 4 years instead of 2 which isn't a bad deal at all.
