4 weeks and my TV is still broken...how long is this supposed to take?

My 18 month old 46" Toshiba LCD has the 4yr PSP on it.  I called in to the 888-BEST-BUY number and after asking me some troubleshooting questions, they scheduled a 3rd party company to come out.  A few days later the guy comes, looks at the TV for 10 minutes and decides it needs three parts.  I call them a week later and they said they are waiting on one of the parts to show up (the other two were in already).  Fast forward to today.  They are saying that the part is backordered now with a date of 01/15/10.  In fact they said that the date is an estimate and that they have no idea when it will be in since it's backordered.

So how long is this supposed to take?  I'm still making payments on this TV, and it's pretty depressing having it sit on my TV stand without being able to watch it.  Not to mention that I got a PS3 for Christmas from my wife (from Best Buy) that I might return with all the games since they have been worthless without my TV.  What is the usual time it takes to get a TV repaired under the PSP?

I just called 888-BESTBUY and talked to another person.  They told me to wait until Jan 7th...if the part isn't in by then, they will request a replacement, which takes 3-5 days to process.  This is ridiculous.

Check your terms of contract, with the new GSBTP you are only suppose to have to wait 30 days from the day they go to order the part before they have to replace your tv all together. If you got premium they are suppose to give a loner.

Hi arrowdrums,

Four weeks without a working TV would be too long to wait for anyone, and I can completely understand your frustration with this TV repair. The fact that you are still paying off this TV has made this experience even more upsetting.

I did look into your repair, and I show that the parts needed to repair your TV shipped out to the service center today, and they should be receiving the parts shortly. I would like to offer my assistance in this matter, and I am sending you a private message in order to start that process. To check your messages you should log into the forum, and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Thanks for posting,

The tech came out today, but got some parts mixed up and will have to come back out tomorrow.  I know it's just one more day, but it's being added onto the month I've already waited plus another day I have to leave work.
