3 MONTHS with NO TV! BB says"as long as it takes" to fix TV. It's a SHAME!!

I purchased my 52" DLP Mitsubishi TV for $3,000+ in 2004 with the 4yr warranty.  In about October of 2008 the picture stopped working and so I had to get it serviced.  A BB technician came to my house to diagnose the problem and BB had to refer the issue to a local service company.  They came and replaced the lamp.  My TV was working again!!  THE WHOLE PROCESS TOOK ABOUT 3 MONTHS!!!   and....it was during the Thanksgiving Holiday....so NO TV for my guests during Thanksgiving...:smileysad:
After all that, I still renewed extended warranty for another 4 years for $400+.  In July of 2009, the TV stopped working again.  No picture, no sound, just a big black screen.  So I call it in for service.  Technician takes the TV and works on it at their shop.  They bring my tv back the first week of September.  Just to find out that it is still broken, not working, same state as when they took it almost 2 months ago!!!...Technician says he will order a part and when it comes in, he will come back to install it and the tv should be fixed...key word "should be"...well low and behold the part came in and the technician came today (2 weeks later September 18) to put it in the tv.  And, hey, it doesn't work...Imagine that!!  "Brand new part same error code", tech says.  Technician says he is going to start from square one, all over again to figure out what is wrong...
HOW MUCH LONGER WILL THIS TAKE????!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I called Best Buy warranty dept. and talked to a rep.  asked her that question and her reply was basically "as long as it takes".  Well that was a punch to the ovaries, even if you didn't have any!!  So basically these techs can WORK ON MY TV FOREVER or until my 4 year warranty expires again in 2012 and I'm just screwed with NO TV and out $400+ by BB.  At this rate I might not have a TV again for Thanksgiving Holidays and maybe even Christmas or better yet, til NEXT YEAR!!!!!:smileymad:
My next move?...Local papers, News Channels, Political Reps., certain Elite connections, my lawyer, bbb, and just tell everyone to NEVER PURCHASE FROM BEST BUY!!!

But before I get to my next move...
Any suggestions on how I can handle this would be appreciated on all parties :smileyhappy:

Hi Winn,

I’m sure you were apprehensive after having your TV out for repair three months last time it was repaired, and now that it is taking us longer than expected your apprehension has most likely turned into frustration. If your family is like most I’m sure it was not a pleasant experience not having a working TV during last year’s thanksgiving holiday, and I’m sure the prospect of being without a working TV again this year is just too much.

I would like to try and get this resolved for you! I am sending you a private message to gather some personal information, and to check your messages you should log into the forum and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Thanks for posting,
