Hey guys, i'm new but i hope you'll help this newbie.
Ok so i bought a 1st gen ipod touch from a bestbuy around mid-2008. I had bought a 2 year PSP
plan with it as well. Late 2008 i had gotten a crack on the screen, i have know idea how it happend
but when i went to sync it, i saw the crack. I quickly checked if there was anything wrong with it operation-wise. I turned out ok. Since nothing was wrong with it i decided to just live with the crack.
Except, 2 days ago, the ipod neglected to turn itself on, i tryed plugging it into the computer, nothing worked. So i have to go to my local best buy and see if i can get it repaired or replaced. The thing is i'm
concerned that they will think it is broken due to the crack. Will the crack cause any complications with the replacement of the ipod?
Other than the crack the ipod looks brand new (though there are a few minor scratches on the back but who doesn't get those?)
Hope u guys can help me with this. Thanks in advance

It will be up to the discretion of the service center. When you take it in, stress that you just want the functionality restored, and understand that the crack isn't covered. Make sure they put that in the service order.

Hello MobileExpert,
As a point of correction, our service centers don't complete repairs on a selective basis. After diagnostics have been performed, all necessary repairs will be completed. If there is a reason that a repair cannot proceed (physical damage to the unit, etc.) an estimate will be presented for our customers to approve or decline. This estimate includes all repairs to be completed. If the estimate is declined, the unit is returned unrepaired.
I hope this helps clarify my earlier response.
