Well I hazard to say many people would be very upset to be allowed to place an order for and item that Best Buy has no idea of its availability.
If you do a little research on issues releated to the Switch it may indicate that there have been a lot of functional issues with the Switch and Nintnedo has most likely yanked production until they can address the mountain of issues.
I work full time
Nobody, no matter where they are shopping, seem to have a chance of getting a Switch any time soon.
I would actually not be surprised if Nintendo yanks the entire project and starts over.
I think the latest issue with the consol's melting has them concerned.
Pleaase be aware Best Buy cannot simply yank into Nintendo and make them produce the Switch.

My apologies but I may have worded it poorly.
Best Buy is not going to make available for back order a product they do not have any idea of when they are going to get.

Thank you for writing in and sharing your perspective on trying to purchase a Nintendo Switch. This definitely appears to be the "IT" gadget for 2017, and you are not alone in your desire to purchase one.
While this may not be what you were hoping to hear, the most fair way we can get these consoles to customers is by making them available as they are received. Occasionally we may hold back units for special ads, such as we did this past Sunday, but other than that you should see them hitting the sales floor as they are received to the store's warehouse.
I am sorry we can not reserve your console today, but I hope you are able to get one soon, and I hope it comes from Best Buy. Please visit our forum any time you have additional questions or feedback. We value your input.
