This thread doesn't seem to be very accurate.  I called the Winchester Road store in Tennessee just to verify because I had been planning for over a month to get my copy there at midnight.  They said they don't know why they are on the website because they are not having a midnight release.

Thanks for letting us know.  This is disappointing to hear as we've been planning for this event for months now, as have millions of WOW gamers!  Sounds like it might be a good idea to call stores to confirm, although this definitely shouldn't be necessary if we have a list posted.  I'm sorry for any inconvenience and change of plans this may cause you related to obtaining your copy of this release.  I've reported what you shared to the appropriate areas and will follow up if I hear any updates.

Thanks for the reply.  I am just kind of bummed because I am a teacher, so I have to work tomorrow when the stores will be open.  I bet they will be all out of the collector's edition by 3:30 when I can go.

I just received confirmation that the Winchester Road store will be opening at 12 midnight for this release.  If you are to call the store again, be sure to ask for a manager, and I would fully expect you to receive a different answer than the last time you called.  Thanks again for making us aware of this.

Well that was a total disappointment get to the store in Tulsa just to find a note on door saying that they will not be opening at midnight. I say Don't advertise in the papers or online if you are not going to follow through. About 100 people sat outside the store watching atleast 4 workers stocking. Shelves and displays full of the expansion but now have to wait till 10am to try again. If i hadn't already paid online for the expansion I would have said forget about it and went somewhere else. Don't think I will be doing that again.

Thank you so much for tracking down that information.  Thanks to your post, I did show up at the Winchester Store at midnight and got my copy.

Well, the store in Colorado Springs (store 298) said they'd be open at midnight (in the sunday flyer) but when I got there the parking lot was dead empty and lights were out.  Not only that but I tried calling in the evening for about an hour and they never ansered the phones but just let it ring down to the national call center... now, the national call center knew nothing of this software release or about a midnight opening... they all said "we don't do that sir, the stores close way before then".  And finally when 10pm hit I got the store recording saying that they are closed.  Severely disappointed.  I still have my copy available today but if I find it elsewhere before the store opens at 10am I'll cancel my best buy order... man you guys missed the boat on this one.
