Re: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Re: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Hah, if I were you I wouldn't want to be a Blue right now! Too many cranky people with complaints.

So for those of you who were in Beta, which starting zone do you recommend? Does one have better (less frustrating) quests tahn the other or offer better rewards? Does one zone have quests that lead into a particular instance?

Re: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Celticmyss,

That is a great question. I know if I had realized that I could have done EITHER Zangar OR Hellfire Peninsula, I totally would have gone to Zangar, because HFP was soooo swamped with people.

I am pretty sure that the Death Knight area will be a hot area.

Give us some input you BETA folks!

5 days and counting....

Re: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Dorothy,

I just want to say that I've been playing WoW since Feb 2005, and I'm as excited as you about WOTLK release. My only prob with the patch that made me have to respec, is that they kinda nerfed some of the talents of the fury spec on my warrior. It upset me at first, but I learned to live without sweeping strikes and others. As for what the alliance battle cry is, it depends on the race, the only race that really says "for the horde" is the orcs. The taurens say something like, "walk with the earth mother", not to sure what the others say.

Re: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Im stoked, can't wait for this thing to come out however because I've been running around campus lately I havent had time to check up and see if there is a midnight release going on near me. Is there a link someone could send me/post? I rarely come on Best Buy's website and finding out if the one near me is doing it just doesnt seem to be working. That and I want to nerd rage with everyone at midnight and feel special in my own nerdy way that my guilds cleared sunwell.

Oh and ya kael is a joke now went in there the other night with a PuG and just messed him up (managed to finally get my title too) but ya with 3.0 everything is easy as pie. Struggling on twins prior to 3.0 to one shotting KJ...

However council and Aurch are still a pain....council is harder than Illidan as of now.

cant wait to install this game pally tanks are OP and I am going to have to beat away the invites for instances with a fly-swatter.

Horde for the win,

Re: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Can someone post some additional information about the midnight release?

Few Questions:
Should you bring your pre-order paperwork? Will the pre-orders be guaranteed? Can you exchange your pre-order for a CE? How early should you get there the night of the release? Will tickets be handed out aka first come first serve like other events?

Thanks in advance,

McGriddlez - Cairne

Eska,

You can check www.bestbuy.com/midnightopenings to check if your local store is going to have a midnight release.

Prot pally ftw!

Re: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Hey pr1nc0r,

If you pre-ordered the expansion you SHOULD bring your receipt with you when you go to buy your actual copy. Since the pre-order sku actually is returned then the ten dollars you paid is applied towards the actual game sku, you should hypothetically be able to use it on a Collector's Edition, if you are able to find one.

As far as how early you should arrive, this will really depend on the location you shop at and how many cool people are in your area who play WoW. I do not have information about the tickets at the moment, however the only thing they would ticket imo would be the CE, because the stores should have a plethora of standard editions. Also, if you did pre-order, you do not NEED to stand in line to ensure you get a copy, because the stores will have a set amount of copies aside to ensure all pre-orders are fulfilled.

2 days ZOMG!!!

Thanks for posting!

Re: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

I actually spoke to the Media Manager at my local Best Buy.  He pulled up how many copies of the Collector's Edition each local Best Buy was getting.  The store I went to is getting 78, and since there wasn't any pre-orders available for them...they are sold on a first come basis.  So I'll be lining up around 10pm in order to get my CE.

[ Edited ]

Hey couchmiester,

Playing since February 2005 is pretty sweet imo.  I started back right after the game originally came out.  I had heard that warriors were pretty buffed up since 3.0 however it might just be prot warriors actually being able to do SOME dps now.  I can understand how a fury warrior might not like the changes.

For me, I am still undecided about my shadow priest.  I do NOT like the changes to Vampiric Touch, I think it totally stinks now on mana return.  They still did not amp up our damage to make us quite competitive with a pure dps caster and with that in mind, it is almost better to take a survival hunter or a ret paladin for mana return.  We do not debuff the mob for the raid anymore, just for us.  This makes me quite the sad panda!!  I just hope that the expansion brings me new joy!

I know only Orcs say "for the horde", however it is pretty common for all of the horde to say it.  The taurens make me LOL.
