Hey Drobo!

Welcome to our wacky discussion of all things World of Warcraft!  It intrigues me that you are prot/arms spec for pvp.  How is that working out for you?  I kind of giggled when you mentioned arena.  Let me tell you about my failed experiment in arena. 

My husband and I both have alt hunters, so we decided that we would make a five man with only hunters, called "High Five Hunters" (play on words as in "Hi! 5 Hunters????!!!!)  We had visions of five big, red, enraged pets immune to fear and crowd control dominating the scene.  However it seems that we ALWAYS get queued into Ruins of Lordareon and Blade's Edge so there are numerous line of sight issues.   Having no healer also was a horrid to us.  We still managed to have about a 50% win rate but we eventually gave up once we got alot of the arena gear we wanted.  Points are points though, amirite? 

I went holy last Thursday for our raid in BT and PVP'ed a bit this weekend.  We went into EOTS with about 9 of us on vent with three healers.  We owned face!  Circle of healing is supremely awesome.  I had a blast.  Until Xpac comes out, I feel that is where I will be.  However the ret pallys were insane!  I completely agree with you on that!

Welcome Birdfeed!

I have to say I hear you about the new skins on old stuff.  When the invasion started this weekend, folks were explaining this as if it were new, and I reminded them that when Naxx came out, we also had a scourge invasion.  I do have to admit that the zombie invasion is new though, and annoying!  Some guy on our server made a guild called "Zombie Invasion Ruined Wow", because it has made doing anything horrible!  I died so much the other day, I went to raid and I had not repaired and first death I was red.  I went and repaired and it was 25 gold, and it was all from ZOMBIE deaths.  I mean seriously, get away from me!

Tell me more about your private server.  What can you do there?  I have heard about those but never played on one. 

As far as the gear discussion, when the first expansion came out, my gear was all Tier 2 and 2.5, I had not gotten any tier 3 yet, but my guild was working on Naxx.  When folks started reporting back from the beta and we realized that level 62 greens and blues were superior if not equivalent to our epics, our guild broke up due to the stress and disillusionment.  However, this time my new guild knows that this is just part of the game.  It is disappointing to our rogue with Warglaives, but what can you do?  When we went to BT this week, we randomed on most everything because really, it won't matter in a few weeks. It is hard though, to see an item you wanted for months, go to an alt who has never walked into the instance before tonight because he rolled higher than you.  Again though, it wont matter in a few weeks. 

I keep telling myself that, but it still does not make it easier!

I look forward to going back to Naxx. I have never been to Thaddius, 4 Horsemen or the Frostwyrm Lair at all. I am super stoked about this.

A quick question about pre-ordering - if someone else will be picking my copies up does it have to be in their name?

Two weeks from tomorrow, I can't wait!

Hey Celticmyss,

Are you planning on buying the pre-order boxes in store or actually pre-ordering online for in store pickup?  If you purchase the in store boxes, your friend could bring in your receipt and go ahead and purchase your copies for you.  However if you pre-order online, we do require that whomever placed the order show ID as well as the credit card utilized to purchase the product when picking up.  This is put in place to protect our customers from improper online credit card usage. 

2 weeks! Yay!!

Do you think the stores will have plenty of copies on hand at midnight so that those who didn't preorder (like me) can walk in and purchase one?

Hey greatnitz,

It is hard for me to answer that question because even I don't know how many copies per store will be available.  I can tell you that last year we had ALOT of copies, however we also sold out by the end of the day at my location.  I think the amount of CE we receive will probably be lower though. 

The pre-order box that will guarantee you have a copy on hand when you get there, is only a ten dollar box.  You basically buy this empty box, and then you return on November 13th (provided that Blizzard doesn't push it back) with your receipt.   The store then performs a return on the sku for the pre-order and sells you the actual game along with crediting the ten dollars you paid for the pre-order.  Shazaam, you are in Northrend!

I hope this helps!  I wish I knew more.

On a related note, have any of you done Kael'thas in Tempest Keep since 3.0?  I hear he is nerfed hard core.  Let me know!

Our guild tried Kael'Thas this past weekend...it was the first time we seen this boss.  Needless to say, we still had a hard time even though he was nerfed.  For three hours of raiding, I think we only saw phase four twice.

So I can spend $10 towards a pre-order if I go into the store, huh?  Do you know if that $10 preorder can be used towards a CE?

I been testing beta for over 2 months , since release of 3.0 i have been stacking my gold with my friends we made our WOTLK guild , we been recruiting members and we cant wait until its out !.

Hey saab!

Welcome to the forums!  So how much gold did you amass?  I want the mammoth mount.  I mean who wouldn't want to carry a friend and a vendor!! Since you are beta testing, did you buy one?  What type of vendor is it?  Is it just included or do you have to purchase it?

So we did go in last week and annihilate Kael.   It took 3 attempts but seriously, over half of the team had never even been to TK.  We had a guild join us a few months ago who were in T4 content and they jumped to Black Temple with us.   Last night we went in and killed him again. He really is quite easy just have to make sure that on P4 you have the ranged on one target at time and the melee on another, then you switch to the second ranged target and second melee.  

I am soooooo excited!  Who took time off? /Raise hand.
