This just in: ME3 stuck in a tree

After EA launched several advanced copies literally into space to commemorate ME3, one copy apparently got stuck in a tree in San Francisco. More details on getting it down can be found on Mass Effect's Facebook page.

Sending games into space.... good or bad idea?

Re: This just in: ME3 stuck in a tree

I kind of think things like these are shameless media stunts... AND TOTALLY WORK!!  I first got news of this from an article on USA Today's website, not a gaming site, so who better to push the envelope for Marketing than the Gaming Industry.

I also think what they did with "Shoot my truck" for Twisted Metal was genius.  "Let's put a truck in the middle of nowhere and let people shoot it with a M249-SAW from the comfort of their own home using the internet."  Who wouldn't be intrigued at the least?

BBY should have matched this.

I would have loved to go to "select" BBY stores and have them shoot off a amatuer rocket with either an attached game or a little voucher attached. Would have to be one of them that had the detachable head w/ parachute.

Would have been a great PR stunt for BBY to follow suit

Hahaha I wish. I guess EA sent off some weather balloons with a physical copy of the game and a tracking device into space.

It's pretty ridiculous but hey, it caught my attention!
