The Best Wii Games?

I won a Wii Black console with all the trimmings. This is problematic only because I had no interest in the Wii before, but once I won it, naturally, I had to hook it up and I'm in love with the system - especially as it plays Netflix with barely any pauses on my TV.

It came with Wii Sports and Wii Sports resort. The kids have already gotten bored of it, as have I. So the question is, what Wii games would you recommend? What should I be looking for in any genre? The only specifications is that it can't be too bloody/gory, and has to be fun to play.

I myself am a fan of RPG's, and the occasional FPS - mainly RPG's.

How do Wii gates rate with the more mature games of the XBox 360?

Re: The Best Wii Games?

We use the Wii for family gaming like bowling, wii sports resort and my four year old loves monster trucks. I would never use the Wii for serious gaming though. The grapics and gameplay just cannot stand up to the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

The Wii has the Zelda games for RPG's. I have not played any FPS shooters on the Wii mainly because I know the graphics and gameplay would not be that great so I buy those games for the 360.

The Wii just have much to offer for real serious gaming.

Re: The Best Wii Games?

I actually figured that. I use it for Netflix, an application which works really well with it, and there are a few gamecube games I'd like to play on it. I understand it accepts it.

Ok then, what games are worth the money then? What really has a fun factor to it?

I have an XBox, but I've noticed that 'serious gaming' often involves losing the fun, as you immerse yourself in a world rather then just relaxing and having fun with it.

Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are fun, admittedly, but they wear thin after a short while. The graphics are surprisingly good in some aspects, but fail with the Mii (the avatar). I mean, really? They are similar to what you'd find in the N64 or below.

Is the Wii really a gamecube with internet capablity?

Re: The Best Wii Games?

Howdy gamers!

That's some great conversation. For a good FPS that has good story I'd recommend Red Steel 2. It's got great shooter elements and swordfighting! I love this game. :smileyhappy:

The Wii does sport a few FPS titles and a lot of great role playing action.

Re: The Best Wii Games?

This game has much better graphics then I expected from the Wii. From what I've seen so far, I assumed the thing didn't have any more proccessing power then a 486sx. Of course, it has a motion + accessory which is useless to me (I have the Wii Black with Motion + built in the controller) but then again, if I decided to buy a new standard controller I could just attach it. Yummy.

I'm going to check this one out in detail.

Thanks, Josh!

But others, keep suggesting, I really like to have options.

Re: The Best Wii Games?

Glad to see you like the suggestion. There's also a version without the motion + accessory, I suggest the one that does just in case the customer doesn't have that functionality already. It's totally necessary for Red Steel 2. :smileyhappy:

Re: The Best Wii Games?

There is a sword playing game in Wii Sports Resort™ that seems to be similar to how this game would play in a sense, and I tell you, it was a kick - for about 20 minutes. Then I plopped down in a chair and massaged my arms for about an hour.

How bad is this one.. and it's odd to ask this about a game.. but how wearing is it physically? :smileyhappy:
