Kinect and ME3

So I am not sure where my last kinect post went to, but I just Got an early demo (I know you're jealous of that Kyle) of ME3 the full game. I have to say the kinect integration is actually pretty helpful. The change weapons etc stuff is stupid as it is just a one button hit anyway, but it works quickly.

Where it shines though is commanding your group. I could tell teammates commands that I normally would have had to fumble through some of the menus to get them to do. Basically it made it so I was free to actually enjoy my role and issue orders on the fly. Which actually seemed to make the game much more fluid which also made it more fun. I was more or less running through the game on regular, but could see where on insane the kinect could be a tremendous help.

Oh and from what I played this is DEFINATELY going to be a great game.

... I don't want to talk to you right now due an overwhelming jealousy... but I will because it's my job you're cool.  :robotwink:

So as a tried and tested gamer with a well-developed concept of what "good gameplay" means, is Mass Effect 3 truly "Better with Kinect"?  Would you recommend buying it for its integration into this game?

Re: Kinect and ME3

I would say it CAN be better with kinect. For regular playthroughs it won't make a huge difference as you don't need to coordinate your efforts as much and can just run in guns a blazing.

Once you start getting into harder playthroughs I could see it being much more useful. Instead of having to stop the action to run through menus or try to remember which buttons are which commands on the wheel. It makes it much more fluid and less hassle. It is also pretty responsive to commands and executes them quickly.

The swapping weapons etc is just pretty useless as it is a fast swap for most weapons without the kinect.

So one of those yes and no answers.

I wouldn't buy a kinect specifically for this game, but it would be a decent draw factor if you were on the fence for a kinect.

Cool.  I guess you also have to factor in the priceless looks you'll get from your family members as you scream "Liara, Singularity!"

Re: Kinect and ME3

Did you guys see that trailer  for the Kinect and ME3 on the dashboard?

"It's better with Kinect."

Neither my boyfriend nor I were that taken by it. We watched it and were like, uh, ok.

Re: Kinect and ME3

Yeh they just put in the weapon swap and virtually nothin else.

In game it is helpful, but just from a fluidity standpoint. I started playing ME1 last night and realized what it was like having to use te wheel again. It now kind of annoys me just a little. I think a more apt catch phrase would be "A little better with Kinect".

If you guys get a chance to demo the kinect with ME3 (stores should do this) I would try it. You will understand more when you are actually doing it.
