Sooo, what do you guys think? Are you enjoying the expansion? I hit 80 last night, and just barely missed my guilds first 10 man Naxx raid. I was so bummed. I thought there was a lot of really neat quests out there with unique criteria. I loved the concept of the "vehicle" but failed at times. I did really poorly with the Tame Jorgumar that you used to kill the iron giant. Who knew you had to go UNDERGROUND to move??? Nothing like being a big, hairy, worm thing!
As far as leveling, I did most of mine with quests. I ran Nexxus, Utgarde Keep, and the spider dungys a few times, but for the most part, I skipped most of the instance grinding. Particularly since you do not gain faction in the instances unless you wear the tabard you get at 80.
Leveling enchanting has been TOUGH! I can't get enough dusts or essences!! I give out all sorts of free enchants to guildees to help me level up, in the hopes that I will get a few pity greens.
Tell me how it is going for you?

Well I haven't really got much into the new content yet. I did a few quests with my 70 hunter and didn't really feel that excited about grinding up to 80.
However, I started a Death Knight and oh boy! I got hooked all over again. Except when I got to Outlands and litterally everyone else there was a DK. I actually really enjoy Instance grinding and hate solo questing so I got bored and stopped playing for a while.
I'm wondering what kinda of machine you're running and what faction you're on. ![]()

Hey BlueandGold -
I run on a Dell machine that I bought at Best Buy® last year with an upgraded video card. I keep meaning to get my specs to post on here, so I will have to. I upgraded last year due to wanting to play Age of Conan (Big mistake) which was much more graphically demanding! I am Horde, I play on Cho'gall server. Troll Priest (DON'T LAUGH!) and a Blood Elf Paladin, and an Orc Hunter. My main though is my shadow priest.
Death Knights are so much fun! We have one who went to our guilds first 25 man Sartharion last night and he was averaging over 3k sustained dps. I was like...sick! You can tank pretty well as a DK also, you just need to be the correct spec.
I am loving leveling my hunter though in Borean. I did Howling Fjord with my priest. You will find if you stick it out, hunters are mad OP in the expansion. Particularly Beast Mastery!
Fun fun!
And Hockey, bite your tongue!

The only thing I can really appreciate with this second, overpriced EP is the locales. Love the wintery zones in every and all games (Especially MMORPGs). My first home on UO, or second technically, was on the ice island, loved it so much, hehe.
The new professian is alright, more is always better, but I am disappointed with how Blizzard doesn't add any new over-all content. Would be nice to grind another alt with new zones and quests and the simple fact you start DK at level 55 is sort of Blizzard admitting guilt that, yeah, we need more content for leveling but we're too lazy.
More towns would be nice too. A central hub in Northrend for all character levels would help with the immersion. Both EPs feel very isolated to the ground game which just doesn't sit well with me, but then again WoW was never all that immersive in the sense of how UO and SWG (RIP), even EQ2, were.
hockeycanuckjc -- I share your sentiments. I tried WoW at launch on a trial and was done within 48 hours. Picked it up again though earlier this year to play with co-workers. The minor changes Blizzard had made (Instant quest text being one prime example) made the game more tolerable. The very sleek, efficient mods made it playable (That stock UI is so hideous and unfriendly, even with mods I still can't move some windows around, grrr). Anyway, I figure, I'd rather settle for WoW than play no MMORPG at all.
Since the EA take over of UO and them riding that game into the ground, ruined it. SWG was massacred by SOE (The greatest MMORPG, game, of all time). SWG isn't available anymore as the NGE is not SWG, though swgemu is coming along nicely with their stress tests, ought check it out. EQ2 I did like despite the sterile feel/look and forced grouping/guilding but was definatly immersive but due to SOE's massacre of SWG I can not, will not purchase anything from SOE, including Lucas Arts. So I'm settling with WoW for now which is fast-paced enough to keep my interest long enough without getting too aggravated (eg. barely touch water: dismounted). All the other MMORPGs I've tried (Which is all of them) I really don't care for.
Right now I'm really looking forward to Star Trek Online, so far it sounds very promising. One thing I do enjoy about WoW, aside the fast pacedness of it, is the environments and visuals. I do wish we had more freedom in customizing our characters but as said, WoW was never much about immersion.
