They’ve got adapters for everything these days.  I mean, if we’re going to have a connected world, we need something to connect it with right!?

Think of all the things having the right adapter can solve… I bet you could use a cell phone to announce at a ball game… maybe you could play with a Tamagotchi pet on a movie theater screen… or perhaps you could use a car’s cigarette lighter to charge another electric car… surely you could charge a Wiimote on a space station.

Let’s bring things back down to Earth here and talk microphones… to USB.  Yeah, not just a USB microphone, but converting an XLR microphone signal into USB format using a device no bigger than a Popsicle.  Coincidentally, once such converter, made by Blue microphones, is called the Icicle. 

Shure makes one similar, which they’ve dubbed the X2u.  Clever little abbreviation for a clever little device.
