It is that time of year again where we find ourselves preparing to shower our loved ones with a little extra love for Valentine’s Day. Nothing says you love someone like a song and I find myself going back to the days where a mix tape could say it all.

As a Band Geek turned Computer Geek from back in the day, music moves me and I am lucky enough to have a spouse that shares my love of music. This Valentine’s day, I am mixing up the modern day version of a mix tape to use on my JBL Portable Wireless speaker (which festively comes in pink and red). This nifty little speaker is unobtrusive enough to set in the corner during dinner and Bluetooth my playlist off of my phone with no cords needed. This Valentine’s Day I will also be setting up some mood lighting with our Philip Hue Smart wireless lighting system for the full affect! I know the way to a geek’s heart and have rounded out my sweetheart’s Valentine ’s Day with some PC parts to deck out his gaming PC with a new liquid coolerPhilip Hue.JPG

Acapella is first on my love mixtape list. Pentatonix’s self-titled album has some of my favorites including “Can’t Sleep Love.” I will always be a country gal at heart so we have to get some old love song favorite’s in there that would put “Now That’s What I Call Love” to shame.

At the end of the day, nothing says love like spending time with the people that you love listening to songs that bring back great memories you have shared. Whether it be the song you call “our song” or the one that makes you laugh, music has the power to make you feel how you did the first time you heard that song. I know that we will be enjoying our dinner this year thinking of the first time we called “I Melt” by Rascall Flatts our song years ago.

Have a Happy Valentine’s Day!
