Initially deemed Project Natal, Microsoft is releasing Kinect, a remote-less motion-detecting interface for Xbox 360 this Thursday (11/4/10).  This device gets rid of the traditional remote control and makes you the controller. Bye bye to hardware controls and sayonara to massive tangle ups. Thanks to the Kinect Sensor this puppy can detect your every move; recognize your face and speech! Creepy? More like awesome!

All this is possible thanks to the highly sophisticated Kinect sensor. The sensor features RGB camera and  depth sensor which provide full-body 3D motion capture and facial recognition.  Not to mention the multi-array microphone, which opens it up to the world of voice recognition.  Safe to say that it will watch and hear your every move!

With a plethora of games that the entire family can enjoy, Kinect makes for a perfect gift this holiday season. Take for instance the game Dance Central. Do you like to shake it and get your groove on? Well Dance Central has your name written all over it. Bring the dance floor to your living room with this exciting game! Kinect senses your moves as you groove to the beat, for a real life dancing experience. In addition to the fun-factor, Dance Central has the potential to improve your arsenal of moves with its selection of genuine expert choreography!

What are some other uses for Kinect? I present you with, VideoKinect. This allows you to stay in contact with not only your friends on Xbox Live but also your friends and family on Windows Live! The Kinect camera automatically adjusts itself to capture everybody in the room to send a family member or friend a group greeting. I can see this being used a lot this holiday season. The Zune is also ready for Kinect, scroll through your collection of music and movies with a simple gesture or just by saying something. Zune pass is required.
