Visitors to the Dyson website recently have been greeted with a digital count of sorts.  Beginning at 0 and stopping at 72 with the date 15.9.2011 (It’s a British company, remember), visitors are left guessing what this new technology will be.  The wait is now over.  The countdown has been replaced with information on the Dyson Hot^™ fan heater.

This will no doubt be one of the hot (pun intended) items this fall.  In a week where Minnesota temperatures have gone from mid 80’s to mid 30’s, the timing couldn’t be better.

The size of their table fan and shaped like their tower fan, the Dyson Hot^™, or AM04 fan heater, has everything that makes their fans great: no spinning blades, touch tilt, 90 degree oscillation, and a remote control that magnetically attaches to the top of the heater when not in use.

 

But what makes it a great heater? Heating elements heat the air that is drawn in through the base.  The oscillation allows the heated air to travel to all corners of the room faster.  Remember the digital readout on the website?  This heater has a precise temperature control with digital readout, allowing you to perfectly set the temperature of your room.    When your temperature is achieved, the heating unit will shut off, but the fan will continue to run, continually testing the air temperature.

Ever notice a burning smell using a traditional heater?  This is from the heating elements burning the dust that has collected on them.  You won’t have that with the Dyson Hot.  The heating elements never exceed 392° F versus the 752° F required to burn dust.

Dyson makes the claim that this will heat your room faster than any other space heater on the market.  Given their track record, I’m inclined to believe them.  Always aware of design as well as function, the heaters are introduced in the color schemes of silver/white and iron/blue.
