Hey Fellow Homeowners,

Have you ever left you home wondering if you turned the furnace down, shut off a particular light, or even locked a door? Well there is no longer a reason to wonder. With modern wireless technology companies are developing systems that not only allow you to monitor your home from anywhere, but also allow you to make changes to your home from any location.

One such system is the Schlage LiNK system; this system uses Z-Wave wireless technology to control almost anything in your home, and even includes a video camera for remote surveillance of your house. Once set up accessing your home system, and making changes from a computer or smartphone is a simple matter.

Z-Wave technology has been adopted by a number of manufacturer’s to allow for the wireless connection and control of almost anything in a home. Products with Z-Wave technology range from the Schlage LiNK lock system, a thermostat made by Trane, modules that let you remotely control floor lamps, to electric outlets that should be installed by an electrician.

Another nice feature of these systems is that due to them being wireless they don’t have to be installed all-at-once. This means you can add parts to your system as your needs/finances dictate. Once I’ve paid off the Logitech surveillance system I just purchased I will definitely be looking into the Schlage LiNK system as another way to not only protect my home, but control it wherever I am.
