Before he made bladeless fans, James Dyson was perfecting the vacuum.  Since launching his business under the Dyson name in 1993, James has continued to tweak and perfect his technology to make it easier, better, and more convenient.  His latest upright vacuum, the DC 41 Animal, is the culmination of decades of research and development in this field.

This vacuum is better from the ground up.  At its foundation is a ball.  The motor, filter, and ducting have been housed here for a lower center of gravity and ease of use.  By being able to pivot on a ball, you could turn on a dime, if the dime hadn’t already been picked up by the suction head.  Simple spot turning is now achieved by a wrist rotation.  With the ducting tucked inside the ball you can get closer to and under furniture for even better cleaning. 

When you are ready to use your vacuum, pull it back and go.  Gone are the buttons to push or levers to step on.  The undercarriage will automatically release the cleaning head to pivot down to the floor as you begin your cleaning.  An active base plate along the lip of the cleaning head will automatically adjust to account for floor types, whether you are on a carpet or hard surface, to minimize the potential for loss of suction.

If the ball is the foundation, the cyclone process is its core, and it too has had an upgrade.  The cyclone cylinder has been remodeled to further improve airflow allowing even greater suction power.  How strong is this suction?  Even the microscopic particles of mold, pollen, and bacteria don’t stand a chance.  And once you have all the pet hair, dust, dirt, and other debris trapped in the canister, a push-button release drops the bottom for safe and hygienic disposal.

Whether you want to clean furniture, mattresses, cars, or cobwebs in those nooks and crannies, the DC 41 will work for you.  Simply drop the cord off the back and the wand and hose removes with a single action and stretches up to 5 times the length of the handle.  Owners of the DC 25 or 24 models will appreciate the change from the up and out movement previously needed to achieve the same results.  Dyson attachments, such as the included mini turbine head, can be attached to the wand, or remove the wand and they connect directly to the hose for functionality and ease of use in whatever space you need cleaned.
