Holy Arkham City, Batman!  Hitting shelves today Batman: Arkham City effectively lunges forward the already-acclaimed Batman series brought to us by Rocksteady Studios.

I for one have been in great anticipation of this title because of my unforgettable experience with the previous installment, Batman: Arkham Asylum.  Growing up a Batman fan and playing various other Batman games along the way, nothing compares to what Rocksteady accomplishes in these next-gen games.  I felt like I was in a comic book and taking on the role of that mysterious superhero I had always pretended to be.

There is a Hollywood movie-like suspense packed into these titles.  I recall moments in Arkham Asylum where I had wished I left the lights on.  Scarecrow managed to not only get into Batman’s head but somehow mine as well I guess… those eyes…

In terms of the user-interface/gameplay you can expect in Arkham City, the controls are easy enough for a little girl to play, although you might not want your little girl to play it (ESRB Rating: Teen).  However, mastering the mechanics, unlocking all the moves, finding Riddler challenges, and tons more content will keep you busy for quite some time.  Not to mention, if you pre-ordered with us, you’ll be playing as Robin with his own set of unique gadgets, special moves, and challenge maps.

The premise of Arkham City is you’re in an open-air prison filled with villains and criminals who govern themselves.  Sounds like a good time… if you’re Batman.  Some of the featured villains in Arkham City are:

The Joker
Two Face

Mr. Freeze
The Riddler

The Penguin
Hugo Strange
