Smart Plug setup not saving.

I have 2 smart plugs I just purchased and have setup each with 2 different iphones running ios 11.4 (iphone 7 & iphone 5s). I am able to create but then the new device I created dissappears. Any help?

Thanks for joining our community to share you’re having some trouble setting up your new Insignia Plugs. I’d be happy to see how we might be able to assist you further.

 

Can you please try the following troubleshooting steps?

 

  1. Reset the plug by pressing and holding the power button on the front for 30 seconds to a minute. The plug should make a clicking noise.
  2. Log out of the Insignia Connect Application on all of your devices. Then log back into the application.
  3. Unistall and Re-install the Insignia CONNECT application.
  4. Make sure that your router is configured at 2.4 GHz band or has the capability of dual bandwidth
  5. Try to pair when being as close as possible to the plug
  6. Please check to ensure the Wi-Fi signal is strong when the plug is being setup.
  7. Ensure that your router’s security setting is set on WPA-PSK; changing the password sometimes works to get plug fully installed too!
  8. Try an alternative power outlet.

 

Please let me know if double checking these things, or performing them do not resolve the set-up issues you’re experiencing.
