Google cannot give vocal commands to insignia connect

Suddenly google will not connect to insignia connect to control ANY configured devices by voice commands.  You can still configure the devices in google AND google still executes  vocal commands to other apps like spotify  and iheart radio Ok.  All functions work correctly in insignia connect using my phone whether locally or from a remote ethernet link. Since starting to trouble shoot with Insignia Support 2 of my smart plugs have gone totally unuseable... will not even do a factory reset. Case number assigned is {removed per forum guidelines}.  I have given all this info and more to the Insignia Support people including a printout from my router configuration.

Hey !! If you are able to control the plugs thru Insignia Connect App, you would also be able to control from Google Home. You can try disable the smart home skill -"Insignia Connect" in your Google home app, then enable it back(in easier terms, re-enable the skill). It helped me. Sometimes Google home app also needs an update Smiley Sad

Welcome to the Insignia Community! Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share the issues you’ve been having with your Insignia Plugs & Switches. I understand not being able to control them via your Google Home automations can certainly be an issue.

 

While reviewing your concerns in further detail using the case number you shared with me it appears that you may have accepted a refund in the form of a gift card for the units that are completely unresponsive at this time. Have you checked out troubleshooting guide here? There’s been some known issues that’ve been working through after some recent updates that are affecting our customer’s that are using an Apple device. Please let me know if those troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issues you’re having currently with your automations.
