Where is my Nintendo Switch Pre-Order?!

I went in to pickup my pre-order today. I ordered way back when pre-orders first opened up. I got my email notifications saying it was ready for pickup and that I had till the 12th to pick it up. Being that I was traveling and it was for a Birthday present, I wasn't concerned about picking it up as long as I picked it up prior to the 12th.

 

I spent probably 40-45 minutes there talking to a couple different people in the customer service department. They took my name and number to put me on a list if they get any stock. They also gave me half off a set of joycon controllers which I bought, assuming I'd probably need then in the event I get the console. The last representative there I talked to was very nice and I know she was doing all she could.

 

However, I would really like to know what happened here. I did abide by the rules I had been given by coming in prior to the 12th. I had placed the order back at the beginning of the pre-order. My Switch should have been that store. I have some time prior to the Birthday, but there is no guarantee I'll get close to seeing a switch before then unless I decide to go to eBay and pay and exorbitant amount of money for it. Perhaps a store employee decided to buy mine and list it there? I would love to see how many consoles that store got with the number of pre-orders as well as when the last one was sold. I'm a data guy.

 

IT's not like the store had to worry about not selling my pre-order. We better get put this one out on the shelf or we might not sell it?! 

 

To anyone looking at my account, it may look like I canceled the order. It shows up canceled today. I assume the store did that while I was talking to them.

 

I'm stuck at this point... I have to win the lottery and find one in stock somewhere or pay a high price on eBay.

I want to start by saying how truly sorry I am if you were given inaccurate information.  We never want our customers to feel this way and I'd like to personally apologize for the poor experience with us.  

 

Regrettably, we'll hold a pre-order for 7 days and it will be released to the store on 8th day.  I'm not sure where you're seeing the 12th, but if you pre-ordered the item would have been released on the 11th.  

 

This is an extremely limited quantity item and unfortunately we won't be able to replace the order or provide a replacement. 

 

I hope that you'll give us another chance to show you a better experience in the near future.

This email states through the end of the day on the 11th which is the day I went to pick it up.  The attached picture on the bottom of your website says I need to pick up by the 12th. In either case, I beat the deadline I was given.
