Hello all,

I apologize for the delayed response on this - it has been a busy week!  There have been numerous communications circulating regarding this issue and I believe we now solid answer for you all.

For anyone who has not received their Prototype 2 steelbook case for pre-ordering the game, you should be receiving an email within the next couple days explaining what took place to cause the delay.  In short, there was a shipping delay in the cases reaching our warehouse in order to get them sent out on release day.  The email will also explain our actions, which include getting the steelbook to you as soon as possible and a gesture of apology.

We really appreciate you choosing us for your Prototype 2 pre-order.  Although we didn't foresee this delay, I hope that email serves its purpose by expressing our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and puts your concerns at ease.

I preordered online for in-store pickup (initally planned to order month ago but forgot and did it within the last week).  I picked up the game a day after release (Wednesday April 25).  There was no steelbook or poster.  I went to the gaming department and asked about the steelbook. I was told in-store pickups are not preorders (even though they are) so was not given a steelbook.  The guy said there were only 4 or so left anyway so they are likely gone by now.


I believe this is the first preorder I placed where there was an actual physical bonus for preordering (FF13-2 doesn't really count as anyone could get the book version which is actually bundled - though my preorder was just the game and had to return rebuy later).

I prefer preordering online for instore pickup as that is the most convenient for me.  I only have it shipped to me if I know I will be busy around that time, but I guess I should have done so for Prototype 2 as it seems everyone will be getting a steelbook and/or poster as well as some gc coupon!

I really hate preordering instore for several reasons:

1. It takes too long even if I personally go to the gaming kiosk and print out the ticket.
2. Pre-order bonus codes rarely ever print correctly as the reps are incompetent and do not check out properly
3. No way to cancel preorders if past the 30/45 days after date on receipt. I have heard people can still do this but I have been denied when I brought in 3 receipts.

The only benefit I can think of for preordering in store is that PMing is easier as calling up CS is such a hassle for online orders.
