I have been trading video games in at Best Buy since they have been doing it. I must say that I am a little annoyed at the fact I do not receive reward zone points for purchases used from the gift card I receive in my video game trade-ins. Right now I can gain points just for trading in at GameStop and then more points from buying products.  All I think I should be getting at Best Buy is the points from my purchases I make with my trade-ins. And as if it wasn't bad enough I kind of get hosed on the gift card and reward points; if I return something I bought with a gift card I actually end up with negative points (i.e.. they remove points from my account).

I did a $200+ trade in as well and am disappointed not getting reward zone points when I use the gift card. An idea that might fix the problem is to give reward zone points for the trade in value, just as you would get if you had used cash to buy the card.

I would completely agree with this idea. But I did get a great tradein bonus for preordering. More than the points would have given me.
