The Witcher's website links Best Buy as one of the retailers to pre-order the Dark Edition but the link only gives the PC download and the normal 360 pre-order. Will Best Buy be getting the Dark Edition or am I just the only one having a hard time finding the product listing for it here?

Welcome to the forum and thanks for inquiring about The Witcher 2 - Dark Edition. I surfed around Bestbuy.com and I didn't see the the Dark Edition either. In my notes, I don't even have a release date, but after some research it looks like as of now, 4.17.12 will be the big day. I'm pretty confident we will have the the Dark Edition up as release day comes closer. So far, I only see the standard edition, but we should get more information up on the website as soon as we can. Keep checking!

I checked last night and found this item is available for preorder at long last with the shirt as the BB exclusive (horray and all that). Why is the price listed as $99.99 (and not just for BB but for almost every retailer I've seen)? CD Projekt Red made it clear that it would be retailing for $79.99. Minute marker 10:47 http://apps.facebook.com/thewitcherlive/ That is pretty much the only thing keeping me from preordering it right now.

Thanks for your post about the pricing of TW2 - Dark Edition. I had to do some serious digging and could not find anything official from CDPR. I searched around their site, as well as the Witcher site, and could only find one message that was sent to a user on their official Facebook page. It states that according to commercial law, they can only suggest prices to retailers but cannot tell them at what price to sell the game.

I checked and it looks like most retailers, as you stated, are selling the Dark Edition for $99.99. I hope this helps answer your question and let me know if you have additional concerns.

The hidden wording is basically, the price will remain the same as she said it is just a suggested MSRP and not a MAP (where the manufacturer makes the price point). Unless, if/when other retailers start dropping the price then BBY will most likely follow suit.

Hey, I had submitted my question directly to CDPR and got a response today stating the US price to be $99.99, not $79.99 as they originally announced. I gotta say I am a little hurt by this but I feel much better placing a preorder at the $99.99 price level now.

Hey Mariel, one more question. I placed my preorder and a couple days later they updated the tshirt as a separate item like most BB preorder bonuses work. What is the best way to make sure this is part of my order?

Sorry for the delay - I was out of the office yesterday. I wasn't able to pull up your exact order, but it sounds like Bestbuy.com automatically added it to your preorder, which is pretty cool. Most likely, your t-shirt will ship separately, but it should be a part of your original order, just like if you had multiple items. So I preordered The Witcher 2 Dark Edition on February 27th when I saw that the preorder bonus was a shirt, and now it says under offer details "excludes prior purchases".  Does that mean I dont get a shirt?  In the picture of the contents it clearly shows that a shirt is the preorder bonus.  I ordered it as soon as I saw it knowing it was a item in limited quantities and if I did not reserve a copy quickly I might be missing out on the chance.  Now it is no longer available and missing out on the shirt because i ordered early would be a bummer.  Just wanted this clarified.
