I pre-ordered my copy of SWTOR on Oct 2. The code I recieved was invalid and said it was already in use. I called best Buy CS immediately and was told it was a known issue on the supplier side and that I needed to call back next week. I continued to call every week after that and was told the same thing "supplier side issues nothing they could do call back".
Finally on Dec 7th I called again for my regualr weekly call to Best Buy CS (that is 10 weeks of calling). I was told that I needed to cancel my pre order and redo the pre order. I told the CS that this was unexceptable as I order the collectors edition and the colectors edition is currently sold out. I then requested to speak with a supervisor. I was transfered to someone else. After being on the phone for over an hour I was finally given a new code over the phone.
The problem I currently have with Best Buy is that early game access is being given based on when your pre order code was entered. I ordered my copy in Oct but due to problems with Best Buy I was not able to recieve a valid code until Dec. So because of this I will not be getting the early game access that I would have got when I orginally order my copy.
Best Buy and Bioware/EA should of had this figured out. However it's the customer that gets the shaft because of your failure. If I made similiar mistakes at my job I would be fired plain and simple.

I know what you are trying to say in that if you had been allowed to enter a valid code in October you would be able to get in the game sooner than entering a valid code in December. It seems like the process worked very well in the beginning (July/August) but got progressively worse as time went on. However, you should still be able to get early access to the game as all pre-orders are supposed to recieve this. Yesterday it seemed like July pre-orders received their early access. Today it appears that it is August (I received mine at 9:30AM and can't use it until I get home from work!). If this trend continues, Thursday will be September, Friday October, Saturday November, and Sunday December. If that hold true, that would give you up to 2 days worth of playing time. I understand it would have been nice to get those additional 2 days of playing time but not all may be lost.
Then again.. you said you ordered the CE version... did you arrange for in-store pickup or home delivery? If you selected home delivery and Best Buy doesn't change its stance, this won't ship until the 20th. If you were able to arrange in-store pickup, consider yourself lucky. None of my local stores were available for in-store pickup of the CE version.

Yes I was able to get in store pick up. Course the cashier had no idea what they were doing and might have just said yes to it considering I never got an email confirming my in store pick up. So I'll more then likely get ripped off again and not get the CE. At which point that store manger had better have his big boy pants on.
My point is that as a paying customer I did not get the full service that I paid for due to a mistake by Best Buy and Bioware/EA. That and you have to consider the amount of time I personally had to spend in even getting a valid code. I had to call at least once a week for 10 weeks. Each time I was on the phone for well over an hour. If I charged my going hourly rate to Best Buy for my time they would owe me enough money to buy a CE and then some.
Yes as a paying customer I'm upset that I'm not receiving the same product as those that ordered the same time I did (two extra days of play). What has me out raged to the point that I will never pre order another game from Best Buy is the amount of my own personal time I had to spend to get this corrected and I'm still getting ripped off by Best Buys mistake.

i completely agree with you i had the exact same experience.
Best buy's customer service is incompetant at best.
