So I preordered Skyrim on PC at my local store (608-Sanford, FL) on October 18 so that I could get the pre-order bonus cloth map. When I showed up to the store today they said they never recieved any pre-order bonus maps and to call the 1-888-BESTBUY number and see if they could ship one to me.

I called that number and was told that this item was in limited quantities and if the store didn't get any then there is nothing that they can do. I could understand not getting one if I went and pre-ordered the game yesterday or something, but I would have thought the fact that I pre-ordered it almost a month in advance would have guarenteed me a map.

Is there anything that can be done about this? I am very dissapointed as there are other stores nearby that I could have preordered it from (and ones that were actually doing midnight releases) but I wanted to stick with Best Buy since I have always had positive experiences with them in the past.

Wait so you got to the store early in the morning which this posts clearly shows and you didnt get your bonus item?

Really BB come on now? Its like hour 1 of the store opening and he didnt get his item.

This is just wrong on so many levels.. I would understand if you came in a week later, but when the store opens and NADA?

Yes, the store did not have a midnight release so I showed up right at opening at 10AM. They said that they never recieved ANY of the pre-order maps so it wasn't a case of them running out as they had zero delivered to their store.

Same here, no maps available in store, even though I preordered originally forever ago...

OK, SO... I was a little concerned by this so I reevaluated and called the store.  They said they for sure never received any, but that ordering online for pickup in store might mean they were shipping out the bonuses, like when a game comes with a gift card... and to call 1800BestBuy.

The rep I spoke to on the phone did some research, and found out apparently BestBuy never received the maps from Bethesda (she said the company name, which makes me think she was reading an official email) and that they would be shipped out as soon as they were received, and that we should all be receiving emails about it soon

Same here also. I was at the store first thing this morning (they also did not have a midnight launch), there were no regular gaming associates there and none of the other employees knew what to do.
So my question is: Where is my preorder bonus map? This is my THIRD game in the last 3 months that has had the preorder some how messed up. It was Gears 3, Uncharted 3 (which I have still not received) and now Skyrim.

Yeah I never got that email. I not bothered about it honestly. That is why I never pm'ed anyone about it or anything but it just shows that 3/6 games I bought have had problems those are pretty terrible odds/numbers. If it was one that's fine, I was even fine with the U3 mishap. But, this Skyrim map shenanigans has me upse

yea I agree with the skyrim one being a problem... my job involves maps and such, and so i was lookign forward to actually getting this and putting it up with other maps I have in my office... I know all the gamestop orders got theirs.   I had almost preordered at gamestop myself til I found out bestbuy was getting it too... now I'm annoyed.

It was in the game box for me. Just so you know it's not cloth though. No ones was. It's just a thicker paper. Now if all you got was the glossy paper map then yes, you got cheated.
