I preordered the game Shining Resonance Refrain and the game is suppose to release July 10th 2018 yet i recieved an email saying it would be ready for pickup on July 13th 2018 (When Octopath Travler is release, another game i preorder). So im trying to figure out if Bestbuy is purposefully holding back my order of Shining Resonance Refain?

It appears Best Buy has changed the release date for the Switch version (the other console versions still say the 10th), I'm not sure why. I tried asking in store as well as Elite Plus support but neither of them had any clue why. I just ended up canceling my pre-order and ordering from Amazon instead.

I did the same thing and noticed that discrepancy. Nintendo, the official Shining Resonance Refrain website, and other stores have the release date set for tomorrow, July 10, 2018, yet Best Buy has a delayed release for this Friday, July 13, 2018. Interesting enough, Best Buy has the correct release date for the other versions of the game (i.e. Xbox One and PS4). Is there a particular reason for the change in date? I have yet to find other sources indicating this delayed release. Please let us know. I'm quite curious. Thank you.

Hello Everyone –
Thanks for your pre-orders, and for posting. I can imagine your dismay and concern upon hearing that our release day for this title had been pushed back a few days, and certainly understand wanting to know more. That said, I’ll be happy to advise you here.
It is absolutely our goal with every game release to have inventory on hand and ready to sell by release day, however, in some instances there may be logistics or supply issues outside of our control that may prevent this. Please know that we adjusted the release date of this title to reflect the date we’ll be able to make it sellable and get it into the hands of customers who pre-ordered. Going forward, please keep an eye on your inboxes for updates on your orders.

This is the most non-answer answer I've heard.
I have hard time believing it's some limited supply or launch delay. The game is currently available for 24 hour shipping on Amazon and the GameStop across the street from my local BestBuy also had plenty in-stock.
What gives? Can we get a more solid answer on what's going on?
Most importantly, is this something that's going to happen often? I can live with the delay on this particular game (thank goodness this wasn't for Octopath) but if something like this is going to happen to on a regular basis, I am going to have to cancel all my pre-orders and take my future business elsewhere.

My local Best Buy literally has half a dozen copies on hand that they can't sell me because of this stupid system glitch. I was holding it in my hand with my pre-order email on my phone and they would not sell it to me. If this isn't fixed by tomorrow, I'm canceling and buying from another store.

Given this reason, could you explain as to why the other versions of the game had a normal release (i.e. July 10, 2018) and only the Nintendo Switch version was delayed? Did it have to do with stock issues or other unforeseen circumstances? I only ask, because, assuming that what @elzam stated is true, then the reasoning behind this delay would be invalid.
In addiiton, assuming stock and other unforeseen logistical errors are valid, how would this delayed release affect shipping since I set my pre-order for shipping?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
