Return Help please read

I have recently purchased C&C Red Alert 3. After placing the disc into my xbox 360, it made a noise and when I removed it, all the edges of the disc were cut. I was worried my xbox was bust so I placed a blank compact disc into the 360, nothing happened. So I placed a game into it and nothing happened. So i placed C&C in again and nothing happened to the disc, but the cuts on the edges made the disc unreadable. I believe the disc was defective and I mean to return it, but I lost the recepit, and I paid cash for the game so there will be no credit card in their system. Will they take it back? Also, I am worried they will say that I broke it and mean to dupe them. Can anyone provide any insight?

Did they ask for a phone number when you checked out? Some stores ask for a phone number and they can use that to reprint a receipt.

When I buy a game I always fold up the receipt and stick it in the game manual in the case so I will always have it.

Re: Return Help please read

No, in fact the woman at the checkout caught me as I was leaving to inform me that she forgot to put the receipt in my bag. I know when I checked out (date and approximate time). Also, I went with a friend who used his credit card, so I can tell them what he bought if they need further verification. My only concern is that I don't know how good their system is, and if they can search for a receipt by filtering check outs using dates and times.

Based on what we read here in the forums you are probably out of luck. You can try to return it, but without a receipt I think they are really going to give you a hard time.

I dont think the disc is defective I think your machine might be defective or you may have knocked it over when it was going its thing reading the disc. If its a circular scratch, its time to get your XBOX serviced.

Re: Return Help please read

Since you paid cash, the only way we could pull up your receipt is if you used your RewardZone card on the transaction. If not, then I really doubt the store will take it back, as it could have been purchased anywhere from their point of view.

For the future, I'd strongly recommend signing up for a RewardZone card. Easy receipt retrieval is just one of the benefits it offers, and it's free!

Re: Return Help please read

Hello GreenTraffic -

Wow, that sounds like a mess!  All the responses above are correct and that means it might not be the greatest news for you.  Tracking a cash purchase is extremely difficult and at many times impossible.  Unfortunately we process literally thousands of transactions a day, and there is no identifying information to tie a cash purchase to a customer unless the customer uses their Reward Zone® card.  I would highly recommend signing up for one though, because it is free and you earn points towards Reward Zone® certificates!  There is even a gamers club!

Based on you knowing the date and time, I might be able to help you!  I will be sending you a private message so keep an eye on your inbox.  You can check your private messages by first ensuring you are logged into the forum, then clicking the envelope in the upper right hand corner.

I don't know if I can track the receipt but I will sure give it my best shot!

Thank you!
