Well, I bought a Pre-owned Super Smash Bros Brawl video game for my Wii ($39.99) and it turns out it didn´t work at all. The CD was all scratched and not on a proper state. I have tried everything to make it work(cleaning the disk with special liquids and stuff like that) and it still doesn´t work. I am sure my Wii is not the source of my problem since I can play with other games without any problems, but when I insert this pre-owned game the console starts making funny noices and I get a message saying something like "There has been an error, please eject the cd and consult the manual".
I bought this game like 2 weeks ago when I went to Las Vegas, in the store located at the Arroyo market Square. I was on a trip and I already returned to my country (Mexico), so I was very dissapointed to see the game didn´t work. (The game says it is compatible with consoles from Canada, USA, Mexico and Latin America. )
I though Best Buy had some sort of control about the whole pre-owned products but it seems to me it is not like that. I may suggest testing the games before they are actually sold or at least getting rid of the wrapped plastic covering the case that does not allow custumers to see the status of the disk inside before actually buying it.
I hope my experience can help someone else in deciding if it is worth buying a pre-owned videogame and I also hope that Best Buy could pay more attention to the pre-owned stuff they are selling. Thank you so much for reading my message Best Buy community and I am sorry for my English in case I made any grammar mistakes.

You should have checked it out right away when you bought it .I'm sure if you opened and saw it was all scratched up the store would have taken it back. You always have to be weary buying a pre-owned game. I will always try it out as soon as I get home to make sure it works and if it doesn't I'll bring it right back. I'm not going to risk them thinking there is any chance it was my fault. Sorry about your bad luck, sometimes stuff like this just happens unfortunately.

Hi adriano,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your experience with a preowned game you purchased with us. You are absolutely right that our preowned games should go through a thorough test of durability and quality before they are re-sold. We want to be sure that all our preowned games are up to par and play like new. Sometimes if there are minimal scratches on the disc, it won't affect gameplay but it sounds like your disc may not have run as smoothly as it should.
I appreciate your comments and we are proactively building our trade in program, so thank you for sharing. I hope that if you make another trip to the states, you will come visit Best Buy!
Warm regards,
