Hi Ice21: Welcome to the forum. The Best Buy I shop at has a kiosk in the game department where you can print out a pre-order slip for the game you want, pay the $5, and you're set. I would guess that most, if not all, Best Buys have that type of kiosk.

Re: Pre-Ordering games without the use of credit cards

i have another question? i used to order games for pick up and when i arrive at their place with my credit card and id they usually get the game where the trays are. each are alphabetized depending on the name. by pre ordering a game, does that entitle to a easy and quick pick up where they have the game with my name on the paper that is wrapped around it? sorry for being specific because i never had to pre order a game upfront in the store. i usually do it online for pickup.

Re: Pre-Ordering games without the use of credit cards

Yes and no. AFAIK corporate does not have an actual policy on how to handle preorders. As such it is left to the gaming supervisor and store manager to figure it out.

This causes problems 2 ways. Stores aren't mandated training on how to properly do preorders. secondly if you have a bad manager at that store or the manager/gaming sup is gone and there wasn't proper training then the remaining staff have nothing to go on.

That being said my local stores do great in this area and work with stickers to pull all CEs ( the truely only limited stock that may be sold out to service desk for preorder allocation BEFORE it even sees the light of day on the floor. Which is how it should be.

You will see some posts here that have bad reports of stores but 90%+ do it well on pulling product
