Pre-Order Policy Clarification

Beyond angry this morning as the Pre-Order policy is clearly ill-defined and enforced different by each Best Buy that exists.  I waited 2 hours this morning to pick up one of two Nintendo Switches that my local Best Buy has that haven't been picked up.  The policy says they will hold them for 8 days.  Does this 8 day time frame not include the day the system comes out?  I had a woman through the Best Buy customer service number actually tell me that 3+8=11.....then go on to tell me that they don't actually count days when determining whether or not its available for sale.

Re: Pre-Order Policy Clarification

Hi TheGame036,

I'd like to start by welcoming you to the Best Buy Forums and thank you for taking the time to post about the pre-order process.

The normal procedure for In-Store Pickup items is to hold the item for 7 days.  On the 8th day the item can be released back to the sales floor.  There are several factors involved in this process including how many pre-orders were placed for In-Store Pickup and the amount of individuals that picked up their order.

I'd advise you to check here for updates to product availability as the can be updated to reflect additional inventory online and in-store.

Re: Pre-Order Policy Clarification

Sounds frustrating.

Personaly I had a pre-order a few years ago that I picked up on the 10th day.

I was going to be out of town on business so I went into the store a few days before release and they marked my copy as late pick up.

It may very well be a similar situation in your case.

But think how angry you would be if you had pre-ordered and could not pick it and you can in on day 8 to see someone walking out with the machine that had been yours.
