PS4 Pro Protection Plan

I purchased the two year protection plan in November of 2016. Now I am experiencing issues with my PS4 and the return has become frustrating. I have tried hooking my system up to multiple TVs with multiple HDMI's and I still cannot get a signal. I tried returning to the store and everything "checked out" so I could not exchange. I talked to customer support through the online chat and I was told to go back to the store. What does my accidental protection plan cover? The website states that "drops, spills, etc" are covered. What do I need to do so I can get a new system?

Welcome back to the forums and thanks for reaching out to us. For me, technology glitches always seem to pop up at the worst time possible, and dealing with the inevitable hiccups are never fun. That said, I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble getting your PS4 Pro working, and will be happy to advise you here.

 

Prior to processing a repair or exchange under a Protection Plan, Agents at your local Geek Squad Precinct should connect your product to their test bench to see if the issue is reproducible. Based on your post it sounds like our Agents were able to get your PS4 Pro powered up and observed normal functionality, which should indicate that your PS4 does not require replacement or repair.

 

If this is the case, but you’re still unable to receive a signal at home, I recommend returning to your local store to have functionality verified. If our Agents are able to verify the functionality of your PS4 on our test bench, they should be able to then offer further guidance and troubleshooting advise for you to get it working at home.

How about the accidental spills and drops? “If you accidentally drop or spill on your device we will replace it”. Does that mean I get a new system that day?

Hey Chris –

 

Replacements for accidental drops and spills covered under a protection plan are not taken from store stock, and are replaced in a similar manner to computers, phones, and tablets. This involves us shipping the damaged unit to one of our service centers, where a replacement is then shipped either directly to you or the store to be picked up.
