Is it possible to use a credit card to pre-order a game online (Fire Emblem: Awakening in this case) and then pay for it using gift cards for in-store pick up? The thing is, I don't have a credit card myself yet, so I'll have my mom use her card. But the question is, can I pay for it in the store using gift cards? Also, for the pre-order how much is the deposite? And do you get the deposite back afterwards? Or does it go towards the overall total cost? (She'll be with me when I pick up the game btw).

Hi there WingedFish-
I’m excited to hear about your interest in preordering Fire Emblem: Awakening from us. I would be more than happy to let you know how the online preordering process works!
When you preorder a game online, you can use a credit/debit card or gift card to preorder. The game would need to be paid in full and then when it comes out, you take your order confirmation page to the store (your mother will want to bring her ID as well).
Basically, the credit card used will have an authorization put on it for the full amount of the game. When you pick it up in store, the charge is finalized on the card. However, the authorization holds aside the funds for the game, so they are not available during that time. Depending on how long it takes for the game to release, there may be multiple authorizations as the credit card company will drop an authorization generally about every 3-5 business days if they don’t see the final charge from the pickup come through.
You can find more information on the Store Pickup Process here.
I hope that this helps, but if you have any other questions, please let me know!

Never mind, I've figured out how to order online using gift cards (scrolling down apparently does wonders). But that you regardless!
