Well, since I sent my first PM, I've spent all day at work and several times during the evening refreshing my email and this thread and I know it can be frustrating.
I just got my code though, so everyone hang on.
Hope you guys get yours soon.

Reading the last few pages of this thread made me look closer at my receipt. My receipt also says "exchange" on it, implying this was treated as a return transaction. I hope this won't impact me getting my code.

They do that because they don't know how to apply the $5 you put down on the pre-order, I have 1 more pre-order for m 5 for $100 which comes out this Sunday and I am finished with PreOrders on BBY. I picked up my game today and I figured I checked the forum which I'm glad I did because I figured there would be another problem.

This is ridiculous!
First, I have an eight year old who has been looking forward to this game for six months. He saved his money to buy it and I carted him all over town so he could check out various pre-order options. He chose Best Buy because he wanted to play MODOK as Elvis. He paid his money and now he wants to play! So all the adults who are going to play this game themselves and are advising patience can keep it to themselves. We didn't pay money to waste our time and try our patience. We paid money for a code. So give us the code!
The fact of the matter is that we all bought something. We paid our money and now Best Buy isn't giving it to us. Can you imagine if we all went into the local Best Buy tomorrow took something off the shelf, told them there'd been a mistake and we'd pay them...eventually.
I mean they could give us all the code right now if they wanted to. The fact of the matter is that Best Buy doesn't care. The people at the stores tell us it's not their problem. The customer service people here don't respond. They're not spending any extra man-hours resolving this. They're all checked out because THEY DON'T CARE.
Next time (Street Fighter x Tekken) we're going with Amazon!
WHAT IS BEST BUY GOING TO DO TO COMPENSATE US FOR THIS HUGE WASTE OF TIME!

Actually it IS the people at the store's problem (or should be). I pre-ordered one for each version. When I picked up the ps3 copy, the employee made sure I got the code and it printed out. I picked up the 360 version days later (since none in stock) and no one knew what to do so no code! Apparently there is some kind of instructions be given out, but only some employees are actually paying attention.

I just finally picked up my copy of Ultimate MVC3 yesterday from my local store after it FINALLY had arrived. I can already see a problem though after reading these posts. My receipt says "Exchange" at the top as well for when I picked up my pre-order yesterday. Does this completely screw up the pre-order? Or can we still submit our purchasing proof to receive the code? What a gigantic and ridiculous mess you have created with these recent game releases Best Buy...

Hi folks,
I too, have been foaming at the mouth since I picked up my copy of xbox 360 Ultimate M v C 3 and didn't get a code. I did finally get my code yesterday, after 4 PMs and much complaining, but I wanted to say that it's not the exchange or refund that is the problem. I had two receipts also: one for the preorder and one for the purchase that showed the refunded amount of the $5 for the preorder then rang it up fully for me to pay. I got the code (FINALLY!!), and my receipts are just like yours.
I would assume at this point that they are overwhelmed by PM/s and complaints about this. I would have wished that they figured it all out BEFORE the game was even released, but it seems they really dropped the ball and this was not the first time. Too bad no thought this was important enough to work with everyone over the weekend to get the codes out, but I now know why they won't simply post the code for everyone. This was a special code just for Best Buy preorders - all the others are different for each of theirs. I saw yesterday several offers online to purchase this code from someone....yet I would bet they are all a one-time use code that can't be duplicated on another console, but used only once. If it were just one code that could be used multiple times, wouldn't Best Buy forget about all those people who didn't buy from them and worry more about the unhappiness this is causing those of us who did?
One more thing: while this is definitely Best Buy's screw-up, it also should be noted that the game manufacturer is the one who decided to give out "codes" for these games. They used to put the content on the actual game disc that you bought - this is cheap and bogus to me that I now have to go to xbox live, which we are not a member of, to download these codes to my system. I can't stand xbox live and I sure wish someone at the store had told me I had to do that to get this code....Remember, the game manufacturer started this, Best Buy just took it to the next level with the complete screw-up!
Good luck to everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!
