First off, I gotta say you fine folks knocked it out of the park this month for coupons in @Gamer Magazine, Best Buy. I got Arkham City for $10 (and so can you until 3/10), Rage for $5, but there is one issue that is really getting to me. There is a coupon for Mass Effect 2, yet, no Best Buy in my area carries the game, and worse yet, it appears none of them will be getting it again. The BestBuy.com site doesn't even show the game as available anywhere other than pre-owned.
I know there is another thread on here about someone stating that many games were out of stock. That's a different issue. All games (sans Mass Effect 2) were in stock at my many stores and can likely be obtained before expiration due to restocking. The problem is that it appears that Mass Effect 2 is done being in stock, yet there is this incredibly valuable coupon that is now worthless due to this oversight.
I want to know if Best Buy has any plans on making this title available again by the expiration period. Will there be backorders and the coupon expiration extended, etc?
Thanks for reading. I try not to be too critical, but I was seriously thinking about getting into this franchise, finally, before I saw the coupon. Then I saw the coupon and knew this was the time, but then it appeared you quit selling it.

Certainly. However this is another issue I have, which I'll get to shortly. I'm definitely not going as far as to say BB cleared out stock to avoid giving away a $5 game (they just gave away a $60 game for $10 with Arkham City including the current sale and coupon), but it's not that old. Mass Effect 2 came out a hair over a year ago for PS3. This is not a small game and should still be carried unless the publisher decided to stop manufacturing (which is entirely possible, but unwise).
Best Buy is my favorite place to get games due to seemingly random awesome sales, in addition to the @Gamer coupons. However, I think, Best Buy needs to keep at least 1 copy of every decent selling game. This would not be terribly difficult. There have been too many times I'd have to go to Game Stop (I highly dislike their practices) to get a 6-9 month old moderately popular game because Best Buy just gave up on it. Two examples off the top of my head are Demon's Souls and Bayonetta. I didn't really consider either of those until about 9 months after release and BB just quit selling them so I had to hit Game Stop to get them.

I get what you're saying, and you are almost 100% correct. If Best Buy truly ran out of stock (and this may be the case), fantastic, end of conversaion and I am wrong. There's still a month left almost before this coupon expires. However, from the sales associates in the store and the website, there is no possible way for this game to be ordered. It's as if it no longer exists like older games (which it is, but not hat old, they still sell Dragon Age 2 which is about the same age for PS3).
As I said, this month's coupons rocked, I saved so much money. I want to utilize the coupons even more by getting Mass Effect 2 for ungodly cheap with @Gamer Mag's coupons, but it is not possible. I find it odd and questionable that there be such a great coupon, yet no inventory to take advantage of that coupon.
And I want to make it clear, this is not a deal breaker. My subscription to the magazine paid for itself 3 times over this month alone already, it will be 4 times over if I can find ME2 anywhere.

Hey TheeDesecrator,
I'm glad you're liking the @Gamer coupons. I agree, there are some great coupons that go in there and I'm not just saying that because I work here.
The Mass Effect 2 out of stock issue is likely just due to the high demand of that particular title as our inventory teams do take into account the promotions and sales each month when determining how to allocate product. I'm sure you'll see more copies on the shelves as the weeks go by because we are still planning to carry it. I would just keep an eye out!
Thanks for the feedback and good discussion.

I just want to say that I have searched pretty diligently for this game and it has not appeared back on the shelf in during the last month. I moved across the country and called every best buy I passed by to see if they had this game, and they did not. In fact I was told by an employee that they would not be carrying it, and that it was because Mass Effect 3 just came out. Which is really weird because Mass Effect 2 is part of the trilogy, and you guys just put out the coupons for it. I called customer service, and they said that they couldn't tell me anything more than best buy doesn't carry it anymore. You guys need to talk to each other. One person saw it as an oppurtunity to get people to buy Mass Effect 2 so that they would buy the third one, but the other guy said that "oh, a new one! let's get rid of this older one that no one will buy." Please bring mass effect 2 back to your stores. The new ones with Cerberis network access in them.
