Re: Homefront preorder confusion

ok going off of what the sandman said, yea. regardless of who made the headset, Best Buy is responsible for making sure they have enough BEFORE the day the game comes out. otherwise, what's the point and even pre ordering?????? they could have just said, "first 4 people to buy Homefront get an exclusive headset" and none of this stupid garbage would have happened. and i'm sure Best Buy knew they didn't have enough headsets well before the launch date because i HIGHLY doubt they got these headsets the day before the game came out. so since Best Buy knew they didn't have enough headsets in the first place, WHY DIDN'T THEY CONTACT ANY OF THE PEOPLE WHO PRE ORDERED THEM TO SAY THEY DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH!!!!!?????? because i do recall giving the cashier my email AND my cell phone number  when i pre ordered the game, so there's NO escuse why they couldn't have notified people that they had a limited suppply and it was going to be a first come first first serve basis. i'm sure this would have saved plenty of people (including myself) a hike to Best Buy to get there only to find out that they were not getting what they ordered. so i don't want to hear that Best Buy is not responsible for this garbage. On another note:

"No cash or other substitutions, except that Best Buy reserves the right to substitute the offer with one of equal or greater value in the event the offer is unavailable for any reason."

So Best Buy is going to try and hide behind this stupid general statement huh? the highlight of this fine print it this "substitute the offer with one of equal or greater value". the headsets we were supposed to get are supposed to be "Best Buy Exclusive" meaning you can't get them any where else and clearly these turtle beach's  can be bought elsewhere, so considering that you can't buy these "exclusive" headsets anywhere else, how can they say a $30 headset is worth the same as the "exclusive" one's since there is no price tag. so how are the turtle beach headset's we were given "equal or greater" to the value of a "Best Buy Exclusive" collectors item??? the best example i can come up with is say for some reason Best Buy said you get a free autographed baseball is you pre ordered Homefront, and when you go to get your game they just give you a regular baseball and they say they ran out of the autographed ones. a baseball is a baseball right???? I DON'T THINK SO!!! just because you gave us a different headset does not mean that is has the same value of a collector's item headset. so i don't see how Best Buy can replace an item like that with anything besides another "exclusive" item. if anything, they should try and get more of them and have people bring in their receipts to get what they really wanted.

Re: Homefront preorder confusion

Golono, Best Buy doesn't actually "make" any of the items in their store. That doesn't mean they can make any offer and promise whatever they want with no intention of backing it up.  Suppose you saw an ad for a Sony flat screen that said if you purchase in store on a certain date, you would get a certain Sony DVD player free.  Then you get to the store and no one knows what you are talking about, even with the printed ad in hand. They don't have the certain DVD player and never got them. They call other stores, but the other stores don't have them either, or they only had 2 even though they will sell 8 of the TVs. Are you saying that is Sony's fault?

No, of course not.

It's Best Buy's responsibility. It is THEIR ad. Even if Sony makes the DVD player, its Best Buy's offer. They need to make sure they have what they promise BEFORE they make the promise. How do you not see that?

Re: Homefront preorder confusion

The BB in willow grove PA had 3 PS3 homefront headsets when I picked up my pre-order today. They were located in front of where the game was not behind CS though. Maybe THQ & BB should get together and retroactively fixed this by offering them to people who pre-ordered the game while the promo was still listed.

Re: Homefront preorder confusion

i would also like to add that they shot themselves in the foot by giving us the Turtle Beach's  because if it was advertised as a "while supplies last"  offer then they would have NEVER gave us the Turtle Beach's and told us tough luck. but since they did give us the Turtle Beach headsets, it proves that they knew they didn't advertise it as a "while supplies last" deal

Actually, the ad said "while supplies last, we reserve the right to substitute if the special edition headsets run out."

Of course, if THQ and Kaos didn't make enough of the special-edition headsets, that's not Best Buy's fault, either.

Really?  Anyone that has a disclaimer that they don't work for Best Buy as their signature probably does work for them.

I see they have removed my posts as well as sandman's ... now I know Best Buy is running scared from this issue!
