I'm wondering how it was determined that the value of that was $20 when it says multiple times throughout the page that it is "free". Charging for that is just begging to fight credit card chargebacks since it's going straight against all details of the advertisements.

Hi Everyone –
This situation is something that our support teams were made aware of late last week, and we’ve now received an update from them. Firstly the $20 value attributed to the Beta Code in canceled orders was an error on our end that affected a very small number of those who pre-ordered and canceled. This issue has since been resolved. Orders affected by this issue have been identified and customers who received the $20 charge will be refunded. Keep an eye on your email inbox for further updates.

Thank you for resolving this. I received the charge back notification this morning. In the future, a simple "we're looking into it" would have been much more helpful and prevented frustrations from escalating rather than the "it's your fault, deal with it" approach you took from the onset.

Hello,
I decided to cancel my preorder of Destiny 2 and also was charged this morning 19.99 to my bank card, which in turn caused an overdraft which will be an additional $35 charge. So now I am out $54.99 for a game I decided not to pre-order? This is horrible practice and I will call customer support when they open at 7AM CST to discuss but wanted the forum to be aware of what is going on.
I did not intentionally buy this game just to get the "early beta" as I would prefer to wait for the open beta when the bugs get worked out so this is a poor business practice on Best buy's end and I believe I will no longer EVER purchase another game or anything else for that matter with Best Buy.
Sad.
