I have been researching the newer gadgets - one of the strangest categories, to me, is the Smart Pens category. Has anyone used these, and are they really worth it? Some of the Customer Reviews are great, but my concern is that they may be glitchy or not prove to be a valid substitute for old-fashioned ink and paper. The sound recording in reference to what is written sounds neat, but I foresee synchronization issues. Just curious about these - anyone else?

I'm looking for a gadget that is a small mat that you can just set your phone or PDA on and it will charge without plugging  them in.
