Okay seriously?????? Why can't Best Buy admit they made a mistake? Gamestop had their own pre-order promotion, Amazon had their own pre-order promotion, and Best Buy had their own pre-order promotion. Notice how I am stressing the word PRE-ORDER?
I ordered this game from the Kiosk and it claimed that the PRE-ORDER of the game came with the bonus of that special hardcover Episode 1 book. Under what circumstances does it seem logical to offer that special hardcover to any John or Jane that wants to order/pick it up the day it comes out? That was meant to be for those who pre-ordered.
When I picked up the game originally, the woman at customer service was clueless as to what I was talking about and had to talk to a guy in the gaming dept. That guy claimed that they only ordered those special books for the people who bought the XBOX version and they would come in next week for PS3 since they forgot to order them. Yeah, okay! I'm pretty sure they had NONE in their stock especially since I saw a few XBOX versions behind the counter on hold with NO special hardcover book next to them. So I called back a few days later and the guy mentioned all the stores don't have them and its an issue at all Best Buys but that they are ordering the books and working with Square on this. Do you see me holding my breath?
After reading everyone's responses as well as Best Buy's, I'm appalled. Of course we can't go to the Kiosk to show proof that it was a pre-order promotion but it sure is ALL over the Internet. So what Best Buy is saying is that ALL the sites on the internet incorrectly stated what the promo was suppose to be? Yeah that sounds pretty logical to me.

"It may have been incorrectly advertised on other sites."
In response to this, if you GOOGLE the words "Final Fantasy XIII-2 Best Buy Preorder Bonus" it pulls up a ton of sites saying the same thing. It was a pre-order bonus for Best Buy. So that means all the sites are incorrect and not a single employee or member of headquarters came across this? Haven't they gone to the past pre-orders in the Kiosk and seen that it was for Pre-order? I know its not "Deleted" forever now that the release date has passed.
I think I just feel like the rest who pre-ordered this game. We pre-ordered with Best Buy in hopes to get the bonus. I originally had my pre-order with GameStop but then discovered you had the better bonus so I changed my order over to you. I think Best Buy needs to correct this.

CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW. Its from the BEST BUY forum from NOVEMBER 2011, and the Best Buy responder even claimed you put $5 down to get the bonus. The Best Buy responder was named Brendan. So now I wonder how many topics are posted on Best Buy's site talking about this pre-order bonus??

It states:
"
You must pre-order the game with your $5 deposit in order to get the novella. When the game is released, you pay the rest of the total and we provide you with everything else. You should get the novella with the game. hockeycanuckjc is correct, if you return the game you would have to return the novella as well."

Hello uncharted & Everyone,
I want to personally apologize for any misleading information we may have provided or confusion that was caused when you were seeking out answers to your questions here on the forums. Mariel was checking with me to get information on this before updating you all so I may have provided inaccurate info or perhaps it was lost in translation, but either way, I take ownership of that. I will do my best to clear things up.
Yes, this was a pre-order promotion. If you pre-ordered, you should have gotten the novella along with your copy.
Having said that though, I am aware that some of you did not get yours. That should not have happened. As soon as we caught wind of this potential issue, we took steps to shift around our store stock to fulfill these orders. Some store locations received more of the novella that Friday (1/27/12). They were also provided with instructions on how to address customers who may come in regarding this situation. If you haven't already done so, please connect with a Gaming specialist or manager at your local store to discuss your particular situation. You may refer them to their official employee news postings if for some reason they are unfamiliar with how to handle it.
Also, if you are unable to reach a satisfactory resolution with your local store, don't give up - private message me and I'll work with you. We care about your game-shopping experience and will do what we can to make this right.
