Are you kidding me? I just checked the status of my pre order for the collectors edition and instead of it shipping its backordered? Boy I sure am glad I reserved a copy in advance...

Seriously folks, as far as customer service goes, this is a joke, whats the point in preordering in advance if it doesn't actually secure you the product and reserve one for you? If apparently the system works where you just take peoples orders but don't actually have a copy of the product for them? Yet you let the customer sit and think they will be getting that product only to tell them that its backordered and they will have to wait more? Sure wont make the mistake of purchasing from best buy again.

I wondered and hoped the same, but I did call customer service and they couldn't tell me any thing other than it shows as backordered and they don't have any more info and that when its back ordered it usually takes an extra week...

I pre-ordered mine on July 12th!!!
I call bestbuy.com this morning since I haven't seen the pick up email yet, they tell me it is in the store it should all be good.'
I call the store to make sure I am not wasting a trip down there, they tell me it's all good.
I get there, they have no record of it, bb.com never sent them my order, or had it hidden, whatever, I was on the phone with bb.com and the girl at the best buy counter for about 40 minutes! The girl that works at the store was great, but bb.com has no clue what is going on, I have rarely been so aggrivated!
I am now somehow bumped to the 26th, when I pre-ordered on July 12!!
BB.com has some serious issues to work out, or I will be a los customer, and I have gone to BB for a long time, but this is the third time in as many games this has happened with.
First Halo Legendary, it took them 25 minutes to find mine, with all paperwork in hand mind you, and then Dead Risingn 2 C.E., never recieved email to pick up, I go down there and see them sitting on the store shelves.
This is really the worst service I have ever recieved, and to make it worse, I am on the phone with bb.com while I at bb, and they are trying to blame bb when I can see on the computer that bb.com never put the order through for it to be in their shipment.

im in the same boat,
they did take 10 bucks off my order, when i called to complain, but that doesn't excuse the expected week delay!
there is no excuse.

We are all in the same boat. I will never pre-order games from BestBuy. The person in charge of fulfillment dropped the ball and when it comes to ordering a game that has been anticipated and in the works for the past 5 years is ridiculous. The reason anyone preorders a game or whatever it may be, is to be the FIRST ONE's to get there hands on it. A friend of mine actually went to the store and got one off the shelf from their store which was probably an item someone preordered and I called him out on it. There are 100's of gamers that got boned on this and some people got 10 bucks off and others got nothing but sorry there is nothing we can do. YEAH THERE IS, if you have 100,000 people preorder the game don't order 50,000 copies and then have some stores stock the shelves with product that rightfully belongs to your pre-orderers. This is such a scam and on the verge of false advertising. If I originally went with my first instinct and ordered it from GameStop this would have never been an issue, but the preorder bonus was better at BestBuy then the Classic Pack at GameStop. But it does not matter anyway because I have to wait 2 weeks before I MAY even get the game and by then it will be time to play BlackOps and Fable III. What a giant pile this is. Calling gets you nothing, emailing gets you nothing and from what I have read on other boards and even here, if you ordered it from the store, the store GM's are completely useless. I order a lot of crap from BestBuy and now I am going to have seriously reconsider dealing with them on any future purchase. I paid for express shipping to have it delivered on release day, to find out it is backordered like the rest of you. If this happened at GameStop, you get moved to the front of the line on any ordering and they eat the express shipping, but not at bestbuy they just give you a sorry and hope that fixes it. I work in IT and if I blew up a server and said sorry to a customer or even the CEO or COO I would lose my job. Sorry's are garbage and don't fix the issue, some one needs to answer for this screw up because they are losing customers left and right on this mess up.
