I pre-ordered my MW2 did not get the game just like everyone else, I called the 1-888-bestbuy number only to be told that they apologize for not informing me the game would not arrive the day it came out, also I was told there was nothing that best buy could do except say sorry we took your 70 dollars and charged you shipping for a game you could of bought the day it came out and saved myself the shipping fee. I have been a loyal best buy customer but, after the way this was handled and the fact that they would not even offer me a gift certificate or anything really irritates me. I have spent 2500$ in the last year at best buy but after this I will be less likely to buy anything else out of the pure fact that if anything else went wrong I would be treated like I was today. WAY TO GO BEST BUY BIGGEST GAME RELEASE AND YOU MESSED IT ALL UP.

I'm just as irritated as you are!! What is the point of PRE-ORDERING a game if we don't even get it the same day it's release?! Wasn't there a time when pre-ordering meant you had first dibs on the game?? Now everybody can just walk into a store, no waiting involved, and buy the game hassle-free. The people who actually put effort into making sure they have the game have to wait AND pay extra cash! I am SEVERELY disappointed by the lack of customer service provided.
Also, what in the world is with Mail Express? They're horrible when it comes to delivery and customer service! I can't even track my package! If Best Buy really cared about their customers, they would team up with UPS.
Disappointed Customer,
Brandon B.

Hey BEST BUY e-mail me your solution to this problem you created. The more I have thought about this, the more irritated I have become. Costumer service used to mean something, but I guess as long as Best Buy gets that dollar then screw the people who keep you in business.
Discouraged

In no way is the following response ment to be an answer from Best Buy, just my thinking on the matter:
With an online preorder, I would expect to not have the game shipped ahead of time. And for good reason: had it arrived yesterday instead of today and you opened it up and put it in your system, you would have caught a red-flag from Xbox/Playstation, and your account would have been banned. Since people who preorder online live all across the country, shipping time frames vary. If they shipped Saturday, some people would have gotten them Monday, some Tuesday, some Wednesday, etc. And the people who got them Monday would have been up in arms that their accounts got banned. The solution to all this: ship them on the street date.
I highly doubt anyone who preordered them with standard shipping from any online dealer have gotten their games in either. Preordering online means delivery online; preordering in store means picking up in store.

thats not the point the point is they should have gotten our games to us on launch day like everyone else. Preorder means a guarantee of a copy of the game and have it to us by that date. Some didnt get the game because they ran out thats probably a excuse not to sell anymore games

Best Buy has absolutely no reason to not get your games, its not like there is no possibility to return the 5 dollar pre-order or full version of the game.
What confuses me a little is that, if Best Buy is the bad guy, why would you place the preorder with them originally? There's plenty of other outlets to get the preorder, ones that probably do things identaclly to how Best Buy did (trust me, I know, I bought my preorder of WoW:TBC at -the place where games stop- and they ran out early). I liken it to saying you hate Italian food, but go to Olive Garden, then complain to the manager that their food tastes horrible.

I absolutely agree that shipping the product ahead of the release date would of obviously created some confusion, but when you pre=order a product they should of notified myself and maybe they did and I missed it because I have never pre-ordered anything from best buy. My complaint is the way it was handled when I called to ask about the game. I was just pointing out that I will be a little more skeptical when buying products in the future.

I wrote a thread about this very topic ("Purpose of Pre-Orders/Reserve Copies/Release Dates").
With regard to shipping and receiving the game in an acceptable time frame, but not before the release date, Best Buy states that they cannot ship too early so that you don't receive the game before the release is bull. I know there are other stores such as [Un-Named] Online Bookseller also does reserves/preorders online, and you receive the item the afternoon after the midnight release. So you have the game within 12 hours of the midnight release. I think I may go this route next time. The [Un-Named] Online Bookseller is very reliable.
