How exactly could the employee have cracked a CD/DVD/Blu-ray at all while looking at it, even if he closed the case on it?
I have worked with all 3 types of disc and its is NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to crack a CD/DVD/Blu-ray by closing a case on it. You have to take a CD and either smash something up or down on it or drop something on it at an angle..
Not trying to pick a fight here but have you ever tried to crack a CD in your hands. It takes a major amount of force to do that and you usually want to close your eyes for risk of flying peices.
Did you see he throw the CD or jump up and down on it? I am really curious about this because I doubt this is possible in the hands of a person. Even dropping a CD would not crack it. Scratch yes, but crack doubtful.. Not enough force to do so.
Actually, what Kinsella5 said was correct. When he snaped it out of the case, it cracked from the middle plastic ring out to the outer edge. The plastic must have been weak, and then he removed it non-gently and it cracked it.

It is quite possible that CryforDawn is thinking of the actual disc material that is readable that was cracked, but the tiny inner ring of plastic is actually quite delicate and those game case nubs that the disc snapped into can cause that plastic-material to crack, which the makes the game disc unplayable. I am always quite careful with my game discs, and I remember when I had removed mine, it made hair line cracks in that inner plastic ring. Hard to see at first but then I noticed it. Actual game discs as with any CD-R and DVD-R are quite strong again what CFD was saying but that inner plastic material isn't as strong as the rest of the disc.

No the part where the disc is read is cracked.

Ouch. But as you can see the crack goes from the inner ring outward so it more than likely started from that inner materal cracking and it simply going all the way through the disc. Anything is possible, perhaps the employee yanked the disc out without pushing in the center nub and maybe the angle of him doing it just happend to make the disc break. I'd like to error on the side of caution and not think you, or anyone else, would take a game disc in expecting it to trade in this condition, as a person would be foolish to try and attempt that, which is why I would not be surprised if it was caused by the employee taking it out which would have been an honest mistake, but if that was the case, the employee should have stepped up to the plaste and admitted he cracked it upon removal of the case. I am sure Best Buy will help you so private mesasage the employee here who mentioned he would help.

Thank you. I messaged him and I'm expecting a response soon. My other game was in perfect condition, I take EXTREMELY good care of my games. It is only slightly scratched because it is a used game from GameStop. Also, I checked the games before I went in, because I wouldn't try to sell a broken game. So, I know it wasn't me.
