I appreciate the response, but I still don't understand quite how it addresses the primary issue.
Why would Best Buy not stock properly for a sale, and if they cannot stock properly, why put it on sale. I was able to secure one game I was interested in (which I appreciate), but the remaining were completely out of stock with no plans to re-stock.
Given I visited the store within the first week of the sale, which continues until April, but is more or less already over due to depleted stock is unacceptable.
The coupons couldn't even be utilized on the used games (which surprisingly were stock, but at a higher price due to not being able to use those coupons (Rage at $25 used less $10 coupon still makes the game $10 more than someone who got it new and gets the online extras).
I would think the responsible thing would be to allow a substitute or alternative on these things. Can't sell me ME:2 okay, what did it sell for new... $20... okay, let me use the coupon on another $20 game. Not a huge deal and it puts a lot of goodwill back into the customer experience.
To me this just feels like Best Buy put out some great deals they couldn't back up just to get people in the store and perhaps there never was any intention of being able to provide enough supply for the demand.
For every person that doe

We have 2 best buys in Knoxville TN neither of them had mass effect 2. I was there on the first day they were on sale when they opened and they had nothing. I been up there every week after that and they still never had it come in. I paid a subscription to get deals on games. Instead you give me a coupon on a game no one had. They should let us use the coupon on the pre owned game at least for all the trouble of trying to get the game.

I have to agree, I went to my store today and they told me they have not had mass effect 2 or bulletstorm new since the beginning of the year and would no longer carry either of these products. So why put out a coupon for something they have not had and will no longer carry. I was also told there was nothing to be done to rectify the situation and the employee would not find a manager for me to speak with about the situation, which made this an overall bad situation and how poor their customer service is. I have heard other people have been able to use the coupons at various stores on used copies of the games, but this is dependant upon the management at the store and cannot be done at every store, which shows a lack of uniformity in the stores all following the same policies.

I can't believe I'm sticlking up for a retailer. But.In Best Buy's defense. These games were released a long time ago. I am sure that BB has not placed an order from the manufacturer(s) for these titles. I don't even know if they can order them from the manufacturers. These sales are to dump the rest of there stock. Because we all know that these boxed dvd games will be offered as xbox live DLC Unless these titles were top of the heap multi million sold to qualify to be boxed as a "Platinum Hit". I don't blame Best Buy for advertising the rest of their stock of these games that you or me would not buy at the previous prices. We are all willing to trek down to Best Buy as soon as we see these deals. Why? Because there are plenty of us who find this price point worth running to the store.
To make the claim of "Best Buy Not Stocking What's On Sale" is misleading when they have stocked these titles FOREVER. You know they did because you probably had those stocked items in ur hands on many previous trips to our favorite electro-goody store. But. It wasn't important enough for us to previously pull the trigger at ithe price point it had been. You have to be fast when you see the coupon. Some stores still have them.
There isn't a Judge in the world who would side with us when they can show inventory records of all those dusty ME2 & Bulletstorm.
All I can say is. The lower the price? The faster they go.
You have to be quick.
