Bad, Bad Return Policy

I had another, and final, experience with Best Buy Customer Service (oxymoron).  This was in the State College, PA. store.  I will never shop there, or any Best Buy, again.  It brings me much satisfaction to have recently purchased $1,0000 in products within the 30 day ridiculous return policy.  They are all going back.  You see, there is always a silver lining...

There are many, many places to shop for electronic needs.  By the way, if you have a problem, don't expect the manager, Julie, to grace you with her presence.  She will send worker bees to deliver the bad news.  They will be properly sympathetic, with nods of the head, dead eyes, a lot of "oh, yeah, mmm hmmm, uhhhhhhhhhh, yeah and sorry's."  Shame on Best Buy management.

Re: Open box Newnan, GA store

I just had my second rotten customer service experience. Yes, they are willing to throw $30 away over a $900 sale. In fact, they are willing to do it over $10 (my first experience with price matching, which they refused, though I had the ad, etc). I had a receipt with my purchase, it was still wrapped, etc., brand new and in perfect condition, never opened, but was just over the 30 day period. A brand new game that was still on the shelf. Keep your policies, Best Buy. Hold on to them while you drown. Fortunately, we just purchased an IPOD and $900 pc set-up. We are returning both. We will never, EVER, shop at Best Buy again. And, I will tell everyone I know. Everyone, check out Micro-Center.

Re: Bad, Bad Return Policy

Hi wagnerjoanne3,

Wow, I'm sincerely sorry for all the hassles you've been through recently shopping with us! It's very disturbing that you will shop elsewhere, as we never want to see that happen. If there's anything else that I can do to help out, feel free to let me know by replying to this topic or sending me a private message. I'll see to it that these matters are internally addressed with our store management teams.

Sincerely,

Justin|Community Connector | Best Buy® Corporate

Re: Bad, Bad Return Policy

So you are having a problem because you knew the policy and BBY didn't make an exception just for you?

Also if I remember right your other concern was over 3d glasses which was later asked what model, because the model that you purchased was not supposed to come with a pair of 3d glasses if it was the model that you quoted. Which eventually you got your way by getting the glasses even though you were possibly wrong.

So basically you're mad at BBY because they won't give into your demands even though you don't deserve what you are demanding.

I'm pretty sure BBY will be fine without you.

I appolgize you are a different poster than the 3d glasses.

But I still really wonder why you EXPECT to be the exception

Re: Bad, Bad Return Policy

I find it funny when people try to bend the rules and don't get their way.

He states the policy and says hes in the wrong and still demands a price match.:smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:

Re: Bad, Bad Return Policy

Have you ever shopped at Nordstroms?  Once you have, your bar on customer service will be raised forever.  A good businessman knows there are exceptions to every policy.

Please note, apologize is spelled with one "p."  Spell Check is available to all.

Re: Bad, Bad Return Policy

I'm laughing because, yes, it is true I expected to be the exception.  I wasn't aware of the 30 day return policy because I never looked at the receipt or investigated the rules.  My bad.  I've done worse.  So, probably, have you.

I had nothing to do with 3D glasses.  I posted minutes after returning home from Best Buy, and did so in the wrong place.  I was angry, and wanted to complain.  Also, I'm unfamiliar with the complaint forum as I have never gone so far as to post a message.

I believe the 30 day return policy should be revisited.  Unfortunately,I chose the wrong forum.  I'm a little surprised at the venom in some of the replies.  Regular Contributor?  This is what you do all day?  Where do you find the time?  Is this a career move?

Thank you to Best Buy for your response.
