So after two RRODs, my used replacement sent from MS now scratching discs and refusing to play over half of my DVD collection, my Elite is now displaying warped colors which I detect to be a sign of a fried graphic card.
I'm very pissed, beyond words. I really do not want to even get into even the slightest bit of how upset I am or I will never get to bed tonight.
I am not a fan of warranties as I believe them to be rip offs (Which in most cases they are as if something doesn't break within thirty days is it going to break on it's own within your purchased warranty? Probably not, and if it does it won't be covered eg. failed battery on a Mac) but with my RROD on my launch console and then on my second console and so forth, the 360 is prone to failure so I did purchase a 2-year plan from Best Buy for $79.99 under the claim that should something go wrong I can simply walk in to the store and receive a fresh replacement straight from the box, no hassle. Personally, I don't believe it but am curious now to see what catch there might be or if I may be miracously surprised which I am hoping for.
Before I go into Best Buy now tomorrow to be either be proven right or pleasanetly surprised I just wanted to ask: Has anyone here had an expereince with their 360 failing and utilizing a warranty plan from Best Buy? I want to know what I should be prepared for. Moreover, what was the process? At the time of purchase of this warranty I was told I could bring the entire console in with all it's accessories and receive an entirely new package, can anyone confirm?
Thanks.
