Gamers Club Unlocked Activtion Process and Troubleshooting FAQ

 

 

Activation Process:

 

When purchasing a My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked Membership (GCU) either in-store or online there is an expected time frame before the membership completes activation and your benefits become ready for use. In most cases we expect activation to complete within 1-2 business days, however signing up at the end of the week or over the weekend can cause activation to take longer in some cases.

Your digital download is ready:

 

Nearly everything activated though the Digital Library, whether a digital game download or the GCU Memberships purchased online, usually involves receiving this standard template email shortly after signing up. In the case of GCU, no download from the Digital Library is required. As you can see below, the GCU Membership should be listed as being delivered to the email address registered to your My Best Buy Account. In-store GCU purchases shouldn't receive this message. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

GCU Welcome Email

 

 

Welcome to Gamers Club Unlocked!

 

Usually 1-2 business days after signing up you should receive your GCU Welcome email, which should also include a link to your unique GCU coupons. In most cases your membership should be fully activated and ready for use both in-store and online at this point, however in some instances automatic activation may not be finished quite yet.

 

 

 

 

 

Verifying your GCU Activation and Expiration Date:

 

Verifying if your GCU Membership is activated and ready for use is easy, and just so happens to be the same place where you can check your membership’s expiration date. From almost anywhere on BestBuy.com you should be able to select your account profile and select “View All Rewards” like pictured below.

If your GCU Membership is active you should see the Gamers Club Unlocked badge highlighted in the image below, with your membership’s expiration date listed nearby.

Additionally when signed into your BestBuy.com account and viewing qualifying and eligible titles you should see the same Gamers Club Unlocked badge and 20% discount adjusted price listed like shown here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Troubleshooting:

 

In some cases activations may not process correctly, you may not see your discount automatically apply like it should, or you may not have received your Welcome Email with Coupons. Before doing anything you should verify the contact information on your BestBuy.com profile is complete and up to date. This includes your shipping and billing address, email address, and phone number. All of these items can be updated in your BestBuy.com profile. If you’ve verified all your information is complete and up to date and are still not seeing your membership or have not received your Welcome Email please see the common scenarios below for instructions on what you should do.  

 

  • If you're seeing your membership in the Rewards Overview page and discount apply automatically, but have not received your Welcome Email with Coupons and the full 1-2 business day period had passed, follow the steps below. If you’re unable to locate your email after following these steps use the contact information listed below.
    • Check any Spam and Promotions folders or tabs you may have, as many email services mark this email as such.
    • Ensure BestBuyInfo@emailinfo.bestbuy.com is not a blocked address, and add it to your contacts or address book.

 

  • If you’ve received your Welcome Email with Coupons but are not seeing your membership in the Rewards Overview page or discount applying, be sure you’ve waited the full 1-2 business days activation is expected to take to fully complete. If the expected time frame has passed, use the contact information listed below for assistance.

 

  • If you’ve received your Welcome Email with Coupons and are seeing the membership in the Rewards Overview page, but are not seeing the discount, perform the following troubleshooting steps. If these steps do not resolve the issue use the contact information listed below for assistance.
    • Sign out of your BestBuy.com account
    • Clear your browsers cache and cookies
    • Sign into your BestBuy.com account and add the title to your cart

 

  • If the full 1-2 business days have passed from the time of your membership signup and you’re not seeing your discount apply or your membership listed in the Rewards Overview page use the contact information listed below for assistance.
